What"s your Silver bullet? and being a clearing to be conned

Silver bullet ((What does the silver bullet do?
Silver bullet. In folklore, a bullet cast from silver is often the only weapon that is effective against a werewolf, witch, or other monsters. The term is also a metaphor for a simple, seemingly magical, solution to a difficult problem: for example, penicillin was a silver bullet that cured many bacterial infections.

What"s the meaning of the phrase "Silver bullet"?

A direct and effortless solution to a problem.
What"s the origin of the phrase "Silver bullet"?

We now use the term "silver bullet" to refer to an action which cuts through complexity and provides an immediate solution to a problem. The allusion is to a miraculous fix, otherwise portrayed as "waving a magic wand". This figurative use derives from the use of actual silver bullets and the widespread folk belief that they were the only way of killing werewolves or other supernatural beings.

Silver bullet

The most famous user of silver bullets was of course the Lone Ranger. This cowboy series ran from 1933 on radio and later as a highly popular television show. Silver bullets fitted well with the masked hero"s miraculous persona. He typically arrived from nowhere, overcame evil and departed, leaving behind only a silver bullet and echoes of "who was that masked man?".

The belief in the magical power of silver, especially of weapons made from silver, is very ancient. Book XVI of Horace"s Odes has it that the Delphic Oracle advised Philip of Macedonia to "fight with silver spears". References to the use of silver bullets date from the late 17th century. An early 19th century citation which specifically mentions the belief in their use as the only way to kill evil supernatural beings is found in Sir Walter Scott"s Tales of My Landlord, 1816:

Conspicuous by his black horse and white feather ... the object of aim to everyone, he seemed as if he were impassive to their shots. The superstitious fanatics looked upon him as a man gifted by the Evil Spirit with supernatural means of defense. Many a whig that day loaded his musket with a dollar cut into slugs, in order that a silver bullet (such was their belief) might bring down the persecutor of the holy kirk, on whom lead had no power.

There are numerous examples in 19th century fiction of the efficacy of silver bullets against werewolves, witches, the Devil and all manner of creatures, which were generically called "uncanny bodies".

Into the 20th century and the term was adopted in other contexts as meaning a solution to a problem. War bonds with that name were issued in 1914. In 1916, The Times advised the population of the UK to:

"Invest the savings in buying "Silver Bullets" in the form most suitable and convenient - Exchequer bonds, or through the Post Office Savings Bank."

Silver Bullet cocktails, a solution in a literal sense, were devised a little later. Harry Craddock"s Savoy Cocktail Book, 1930, lists the ingredients:

Silver bullet cocktail. half Gin. quarter Lemon Juice. quarter Kummel. Shake well and strain into cocktail glass.

The expression "magic bullet" also came into being at around this time. This had a similar meaning to "silver bullet" but related specifically to highly targeted medical treatments. It was coined by the German scientist Paul Ehrlich in a speech in 1906, using the German word Zauberkugel. This was translated as "magic bullet" when Ehrlich"s work was reported in Science, in August 1924:

"Ehrlich aptly compared them [natural antibodies] to magic bullets, constrained by a charm to fly straight to their specific objective, and to turn aside from anything else in their path."

Oddly, the figurative use of "silver bullet" that is now commonplace wasn"t adopted into general use until well after all of the above, probably in response to the activities of "that masked man". The US newspaper The Bedford Gazette included this piece in a September 1951 issue:

"There are those who warn against viewing the atom as a magic weapon... I agree. This is not a silver bullet which can deliver itself or otherwise work military miracles."
))... and being a clearing to be conned

In this article, as I usually do, I go deep into the recesses of your person... and dig out important information so you can regain your control over you life, and start moving in the direction you envision for yourself... or ignore what I am saying, and be like a boat that is directed by the undertow....

As you can learn from the "Feelings: the need for a new science" book, humans have a lot of needs. But humans can be manipulated... and they are.

One of these needs, the need for security, the need to be sure, the need to not make a mistake, the need to feel good (these sound like they are different needs, but they are the same need) has been manipulated into one of the most dominant needs that tells us what to do, tells you what is most important.

I see this all the time with my clients and students. They ultimately want to hand over their decision making to me... because decision making is fraught with the risk of making wrong steps... and that goes against that need to feel good.

... or if not that, they are trying to "suck up to me" to make me believe that they really really really, but really want to do the right thing, are doing the right thing, but the results prove the opposite.

Water energizing... a battle field

We, the few hundred people who want to raise their cell hydration, have been struggling with the water...

I was, probably, conned into believing that the problem was with the audio ((THE water energizer works through and audio recording of me charging some water, breathing heavy. The breath recorded carries the energizer energy. Of course it"s weaker. I can charge a bottle of water in 2-3 minutes with my hands, pushing the energizer energy into the water, while for the audio to do the same it takes nearly 24 hours.))

I became reactive, looking for a "fix of what"s wrong". So, as a fix, I combined two energies, and made a new recording.

Turns out the new recording is about three times slower, but it has revealed the mischief... because the cell hydration of most people isn"t going up... while some people"s do.

I could say that I am confused, I am puzzled, I am clueless...

The results are tainted with people"s personal agenda...

You don"t have a personal agenda, you say? Of course you do. Your self-awareness may be dimmed and you don"t see it. Or you are lying to yourself. Or you have more sinister agenda, for all I know. Maybe you want to prove that i don"t know what I am talking about...

Unfortunately this means: the feedback I am getting is not clean.

When you have an agenda, you are plagued with conflicting interest. And almost always the desire to be THE winner while another will be a loser (zero sum game) wins out.

In the work I do with you, in the work I attempt to do, I intend to do with you, I am on the side of what you said when you entered into an agreement with me: take you to a place where you can become the best you can become. I have no other agenda, neither conscious, nor unconscious. ((How do I know I have no other agenda? Something hidden from my view? Because I used to. And I noticed it and then eliminated it.))

I am OK with you wanting to be right, wanting to be secure, even with you wanting to be smarter than me. But not if that desire trumps your desire to become the best you can be.

In a course some 30 years ago I learned about my silver bullet... which was "selfish". If anyone thought I had a self-interest, if they implied that I was selfish, I crumbled and lost all power to just be. That is the nature of a silver bullet: it kills.
The other thing I learned in that course, 30 years ago, is that we are all an invitation, unconscious invitation to be manipulated, conned, coerced, forced... and that most of us respond to that invitation with vigor... become manipulative, conning, coercing, and forcing.

OK, truth be told, I could see that 30 years ago. Today I can"t see it on myself... maybe I have left the "we all"... even though if you use making me angry as a tool to manipulate me, I am still putty in your hand... :-(

I still have three people in my life who use that tool on me, when I am willing to engage with them, so in that regard, I am still part of the "we all"...

There is no protection, only awareness and conscious preparation can help you avoid it.

But in this article I am more interested in YOU being the perpetrator, the manipulator, the forcer, the conman.

Until you get aware, clear, and face the tiger, you"ll never be able to become all you can become, you"ll never develop a Self, and you"ll never love yourself or your life.

And you know what kind of life that gives you.

So what does this mean to you?
Start considering that you have conflicting agendas: your public agendas and your private, hidden, not savory agendas. And that they are mutually exclusive.

Just observe, and bring consciousness to it. Consciousness it the part of you that sheds light to things you do, that you cannot unsee.

Unless you are wholly on the dark side, just seeing what you do for what it is, in the light of your consciousness, is enough to initiate some behavioral change.

In essence, all coaching with me is bringing the light of consciousness to pockets of ugly in your attitude, in your behavior.

If the secret agenda still allows you to grow, that is all you need to straighten yourself out, and start growing.

And if the secret agenda is too strong... then you are on the dark side, and I can"t help you.

The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation... But why?

You cannot help something that you don"t know what causes it...

Thoreau thinks misplaced value is the cause: We feel a void in our lives, and we attempt to fill it with things like money, possessions, and accolades.

I think that the truth is deeper than that.

"The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so
the necessary may speak." - Hans Hoffman

Things are never how the mass of men want them to be. Not the way they want to feel, not what they want to do and not what they want to have.

Money is never enough. Or time... Or fun is never fun enough. Not enough love. Not enough respect. Not enough of anything.

On yesterday"s grocery shopping trip (I don"t have a car. So I go shopping with the community center"s van for old people.) I watched the other people... two days before the next "pay" comes in, they barely had enough money to buy an item or two. One spent those few bucks on wine... One couldn"t even come to shop... not until he gets his check.

I talked to an 80 year old and a 95 year old woman. By that age, it seems, you appreciate if you are feeling halfway decent. I am only 71... I"ll be next Tuesday... if you want to wish me happy birthday.

But most people aren"t that old, and they, you, are dissatisfied.

You plan, you expect what you planned to come to fruition, and it doesn"t... or it comes with a shadow side.

Unavoidable.

If you wanted to know what is the difference between happy and unhappy people, it is not what happens to you, it is not what or how much you have, it is not how much success or failures you have.

It is your expectations.

Bad teachers, the media, teach us to expect the best. To be ecstatic when things turn out the way they are supposed to. No one teaches us, or our children, what to do, how to feel, when things turn out the way they normally turn out... disappointing.

To boot, there are programs after programs darn attractive to people, that teach that you can get exactly what you want... by wishing it... imposing your wish on your thoughts. Matching its vibration. Desiring... strongly... and get caught in the desire trap.

One of my students sent me a playful email:
You are so mean to me

That"s right. YOU. The imaginary Sophie in my head. :)

So yesterday...I"m at my Sunday book club meeting. The room is full of what you would call California people...healers, actresses, aura readers, people-who travel to India every chance they get.

The subject turned to creating wealth. I asked I anyone had read The Science of Getting Rich. None had. I pulled out my trusty Kindle and read a few paragraphs of the first chapter where Wattles talks about the right to be rich.

The response was.. "That"s great. But all you really have to do is the Shreem Brzee."

Me. "Never heard of it."

She: "It"s a wealth mantra. Superb spiritual technology. Just repeat as many times as humanly possible throughout the day... and at night, bolster it with "ho"oponopono" as many times as possible. You will attract the most amazing results." ((according to the Dr Pillai center: Chant Shreem Brzee at least 108 times a day for 45 days with Faith and see what manifests in your life!))

Sophie in my head: "I will kick your ass if you even THINK about going down this road."

The hogwash of manifestation, the energy of sound b.s. is attractive to people who aren"t interested in actually "earning" their money: they want it to fall out of the sky.

If these theories were any accurate, we would live in a different world.

But reality is the way reality is... and you can"t create something from nothing.

The way the world works is the way the world works.

You need to earn what you want...
  • You need to know what you want

  • You need to do the right actions to get what you want.

They call this earning...

Both knowing what you want, and doing the right actions require capacities to open, lot so skill building, learning... are you disappointed yet?

I once was in an recruiting event where a young man stood up and declared that what he wanted was to play basketball on an NBA (National Basketball Association) team. He had some debilitating disease... he walked on crutches, his legs shriveled.

Half of the room left in the break... they could see that the organization where people say things that are not based in reality can be of any use to them.

I read a great article yesterday about Herman Hesse"s Siddhartha, a novel about two seekers.
In a quote from the novel it says: "When someone seeks,” said Siddhartha, “then it easily happens that his eyes see only the thing that he seeks, and he is able to find nothing, to take in nothing because he always thinks only about the thing he is seeking, because he has one goal, because he is obsessed with his goal.

Seeking means: having a goal.

But finding means: being free, being open, having no goal."

When you look at the world as "not what I want"... you cannot be happy... in fact the more "not what I want" you see the more miserable you grow.

What Herman Hesse doesn"t say, because it is too revolutionary, too enlightened, too (whatever it is that people cannot accept)... is that unless you choose things to be the way they are, what isn"t just so will hold your attention, and eat away at your life, leaving nothing but misery behind.

Here is an example: you set a goal to read at a speed of 50 pages an hour by your birthday. You practice, you push yourself, and you get your reading speed up to 42 pages an hour.

You didn"t get any of the beauty of the books, because that wasn"t your focus, that wasn"t your goal. You wanted speed. And you failed.

And you quit trying.

You are mired in a sense of failure. So much work and only 42 measly pages an hour? F... that!

You don"t know because no one is telling you that you manufactured your own misery. Every step of the way.

You created a goal... and it ate your lunch... so to say.

So what can you do, if setting goals, being fixated on a goal, beating the dead horse won"t do it, won"t make you get what you want?

The answer is simple enough:

Make what you want a preference. Not a goal: A direction. A direction you"ll use to define your actions. Like a compass.

Life, reality, is a lot like that: you"ll use a compass, but the world is not empty...

There is no straight line in reality
The path towards north is leading around obstacles... bumping into them, bloodying your nose... getting up and keep going. In zig-zag.

So what is the "technology" exactly?
  • Step 1. Force yourself to have sober eyes. See how things are (reality), exactly. This phase is what I call: facing the tiger long enough that you can count the hairs in his ears... Also see what you hoped for, what you wanted. It takes time. You may need to do the exercise "Find your feet" to calm down the inner emotional turmoil and come out of the cave of your mind.

Your breathing will inform you, the sharpness and calmness of your eyes will inform you.
  • Step 2. Choose how it is without resistance, without thinking in the back of your mind: "it should not be the way it is."

This is hard.

Until the time that you"ll have an "I" to actually choose, this will be temporary... but will hold long enough so you can calm down and see what it is you would want to do next.
  • Choosing is NOT resigning to how it is.

  • Choosing is also NOT resisting how it is

Choosing the thing to be the way it is doesn"t mean you settled for less. Doesn"t mean that you condone it, that you like it, that you agree with it. Choosing the thing to be the way it is is returning, emotionally, to power.

You cannot pretend it. And you cannot pretend choosing.

If you are a habitual liar, pretender, faker, conman (30% of humanity!) then this may not be possible for you.
But, surprisingly, this, choosing things to be the way things are, is the fastest path to become a person... to possess a Self, and to begin your journey to Self-growth, to become a HUMAN BEING.

At this point you are a human SEEKER, a human Resistance machine, a wisher, and if we want to use stronger words, a wretch...

Don"t be mistaken: among all the thousands of people I coached in Landmark Education, I didn"t find one person who was able to choose. Partially the program was responsible.

They took a whole 60 minutes of the 60 hour program to deal with choosing... and were very self-satisfied when one person got the first glimpse of what is choosing. So no one that I know made them practice, struggle with it, feel the cognitive dissonance, the muscle pain, and come out on the other side empowered, and with the ability for joy.

Landmark, like church, needs you to need it. You are a meal ticket. And happy joyful people rarely come back to "church". They go out and do good things... lol.

Same thing happened with another crucial distinction I make you practice in the Playground program... separating the story from the what happened.

The biggest problem of humans is the collapsing reality with what they say about it... the mind. And when these two aspects of reality are collapsed, being happy, being joyful, being free is impossible. Totally impossible.

The Playground method cleans up the past, and the choosing method brings the same idea to the present moment. To the "now". No woo-woo, no magical thinking, no sitting cross legged and watching your breath going in and out. No, dealing with what is in front of you, powerfully. With sober eyes.

Here is an unplanned recording where I attempt to teach this idea to someone who used to take my courses, but hadn"t been around for years.

you can download it...

I don"t promise that one listen will equip you to actually be able to do what you need to learn to do, so you can have a life of joy, ease, and freedom.

You decide if that is worth your time and effort.

PS: One of the most dramatic choices I made, back in 1996 that completely changed my life is this: I chose to be stupid when I was stupid... instead of fighting it, trying to cover it up, change it.

I chose instead to be stupid when i was stupid.

That allowed me to develop strategies to reduce the frequency of incidents when i was stupid.

It also allowed me, eventually, to choose other people to be stupid when they were stupid. That step was much harder, and it took me several years.

I am now working on choosing you to be shallow, mundane, self-centered, haughty, arrogant, superior, when you are that way.

Obviously my preference is that you are deep, intelligent, interesting, etc... but that is not how you are. So instead of avoiding people and becoming a resentful hermit, I choose you to be the way you are, and I have noticed, I may even be able to enjoy you, enjoy them... Hah! I have never expected that! lol.

PPS: I decided that you deserve another chance at taking the Playground program, that will now include the Choosing method.

It will be on Saturdays, once a month, indefinitely. The first session will be on the second Saturday of September, September 8, at 4 pm my time. I"ll record the calls, so you can listen to it, whether you were at the session or not.

And as a bonus, I include all the recordings of the last Playground program.

This is not a series of lectures... this is practice. One-on-one, with me. If you need to set up a partnership to practice, I can also help you with that.

More on the salesletter

As usual, my courses are a handful of people, so you get plenty of one-on-one time. And the program is priced that you get 10 times more value than your money...

Choosing, choosing what is

You"ll need beginner"s mind for this...

Some mornings I have nothing to say. I am likely running on empty.

Two reasons, two causes, two energy leaks:
  • 1. reading something that has no substance to fill me up ((I am reading a book that Amazon readers rated an average 4.7 stars (out of five) and it is like eating candy or Chinese food... empty "calories" that use your energy instead of giving you some. I have found that reviews can"t be trusted. If 99% of humanity, even readers, are sheep, then their reviews are reviews by sheep... Do I want to read what the sheep likes? No. But at the same time I just finished reading five books by another writer, same star rating, and I learned soooooooo much, I felt sad when the books were over. So you don"t know. You have to take a risk. 50 pages should be enough to know if the book is going to fill you up, or empty you. Same with videos, TV series, movies, friends, parties, trips, courses... Wasting money is better than wasting your energy.)) and

  • 2. talking to someone whose echo empties me... like a black hole.

So what do I do? I have some "authors",  mostly on Medium.com whose writings are idea-sparkers... without making me a plagiarist or a second-hander.

Even that move  didn"t work this morning.

In a course I did 31 years ago, I learned a trick to get some energy when I have none. It"s called "directing traffic".

But it could also be called: a job completed releases energy... so complete some small tasks so you get energy for some bigger tasks... or, in my case, for creativity.

So I did two loads of laundry, swept the floor, and here I am, I have something to say...

Completion generates energy

Easy-peasy.

So what I want to write about is choosing. The "lost art".

I looked up my already published articles and found six... and I am going to list them at the end of this article, to support this new article with... I hope it will work.

Because choosing is fundamental to you living the good life, living a life worth living, living a life you can love.

The only good thing in the book series I am now going to stop reading, the soul-sucking, energy-killing one I mention in the beginning of this article, is that the person, I guess the protagonist, is forced to choose, pretty much all the time...

YOU don"t know you can choose, and you don"t know that you don"t choose. And you definitely don"t know that you have, in a way, chosen the situation you are in, the way you feel, the thing you do.

Our attitude towards our lives is BECAUSE... assigning cause to some circumstance

You "choose" and when I ask why you chose what you chose, you have a because... which means that you didn"t choose. The because chose. The reason.

The "I want it", or "I like it", or "I don"t like it"... or "It"s cold", or "that is what is on sale"... Or "I don"t have enough money"...

Millions of becauses choose for you... YOU don"t choose.

Choosing is selecting freely, after consideration. When the reason chooses, you didn"t...

My life turned around when I got choice.

It was about 30 years ago. I sold advertising in my own publication. The advertisers were club owners, and they took pride in cheating everyone out of their money... not paying, or giving me checks drawn on closed accounts, or insufficient fund.

One afternoon I showed up at one of the clubs, carrying my sleeping bag. "I am going to stay until I get paid" I said simply and started to unroll my sleeping bag. The owner immediately found the money to pay me.

And I saw something: Club owners are assholes. But instead of being angry about that, I saw that they are supposed to be assholes. Just like "it is supposed to be cold in winter... why complain! why pretend that it"s a surprise?"

And just like you know what to do when it"s cold (get dressed warmly) I knew instantly what to do when my clients were assholes.

"Your ad won"t even be designed until I have the money in my hand. Cash or a cleared check."

Now, this sounds easy, but you cannot do it unless you get that it is your choice. Choosing puts the power squarely in your hands, on your shoulder.

Not all club owners are assholes, by the way... I chose my attitude myself. Not because it is true... but because that is what I chose. That is what was making my life work... brilliantly, I might add.
  • Employees did what employees were supposed to do: do as little as they could.

  • The publication was late when the publication was late.

  • I wrote my editorial in a dazed state in the last minute after 72 hours or more not sleeping at all...

  • I chose my mother to be the way she was, my brothers the way they were, myself the way I was: warts and all.

I have been able to expand the sphere of things and circumstances I can choose to cover 90% of everything I could choose.

If you decide to employ this amazing method, you"ll start at the beginning. And as long as you are able to maintain a beginner"s mind, you"ll find that you have a lot less annoyance or frustration, and a lot more freedom.

At some point you"ll notice that you can see what"s amiss with people, with government, with systems, with industry, with billionaires, and still be able to keep your head about you by choosing them the way they are.

You"ll stop fighting against anything or anyone... and choose to become the best YOU you can become.

You won"t try to save the planet. You won"t try to change people. You won"t blame, complain, and obsess. Or not as much.

I am finding that even that missing 10% is a lot... hours a week! It used to be weeks, months, years... so it is not THAT much, but it"s still a lot.

It"s a process. You can"t make jumps other than in your mind, in your imagination, but not in reality... you can only choose what is consistent with the laws of the physical universe, no matter what anyone says.

Here is the list of the old articles, all about choosing. You"ll notice how much I have grown, changed, and that makes it very interesting... to me.

The reason.

What do you see with?

Brain Plasticity...

The brain that changes itself is a book I read in 2011... And today I watched the documentary... and let you also see it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFCOm1P_cQQ

Why have I been thinking about brain plasticity/neuroplasticity?

Because I have been intrigued by the fact that in this recent illness I could clearly see the things that were happening inside my gut, and what was the next step to bring myself back to health.

Had I gone to a doctor, I would be dead.

Why? Because doctors, unless they cut you open, can"t see... they can only see what they understand, and they can only see with their eyes... most of them, at least. Internists, definitely.

I have realized that through many decades of self-training, I have corrected brain issues that I was born with, and compensated for many disabilities due to being born a very premature, very small baby in a hospital with no incubator, to a mother who didn"t want me.

I must have been really stupid... I didn"t feel stupid, by the way. But from the behavior of my mother and my siblings, the "official" opinion about me was that I was stupid.

Because I had the "spirit" really strong in me, I have overcome most of the challenges that nature and myself set in front of me.

And in the last twenty or so years, I started to see not with my eyes, but with my feelings/sensations.

Obviously seeing needed to be coupled with an accurate understanding... so I am an avid reader... on average I read ten books a month, when I have more time, twenty, while I run this business as well, write my articles, have coaching calls, etc.

Beating this weird poisoning in my gut took 8 zig-zag moves, and I am still not quite done (I am done 92%). But every move was a surprise to me: unorthodox, but effective.
“As novices, we don"t trust our judgment. Then we have some success, and begin to feel a little surer of ourselves. Finally, we get to the top of our game and succumb to the trap of thinking that there"s nothing we can"t master. As we get older and more experienced, we overestimate the accuracy of our judgments, especially when the task before us is difficult and when we"re involved with something of great personal importance… Most people are inclined to use moral terms to describe overconfidence — terms such as "arrogance" or "hubris." But psychologists tend to regard overconfidence as a state as much as a trait.”

- Malcolm Gladwell, "Cocksure," an essay in the July 27, 2009, New Yorker.

When we enter a conversation with curiosity, we allow ourselves to see things differently and to be surprised by what we discover.

One of the moves,to prevent the offending bacteria from adhering to my gut wall, I have been taking Mannose sugar... So I can flush out the bacteria.

When I was little, I got treated for apparent urinary infections with all kinds of medication that was designed to kill microorganisms... and those urinary infections returned with a frightening regularity.

Now, 60 years later I know they weren"t treated right: the offender, the cause of the discomfort was misdiagnosed. So treatment has caused countless of additional illnesses down the line, many was near-fatal.

All kinds of stuff can cause discomfort in your bladder and other parts of your peeing equipment. Among others the "mites" I have been observing, and have nearly 100% conquered over. I am nearly 100% sure that the urinary infection was not that... it was the mites.

What you see

We, humans... I am sure of that, cannot see how much we see, we cannot see how much of what we see is accurate, and most of the time we don"t know what we see.

How do I know? By observing.

On one hand there are you and others I am observing, and I can see that you have no idea what you are doing, because you have no idea what"s going on.

The cliche: Some people make things happen. Some people watch things happen. And then there are those who wonder, "What the hell just happened?"

At certain level of "expertise" or competence, you actually return to "I don"t know what I am seeing"...

You see, from the results, that you actually saw a lot, and saw it accurately.

The opposite is the 99%: they think they see a lot, they think they see it accurately, and they wake up with the shabby result that show that they neither saw much of reality, and even what they saw was not accurate... so the results are supposed to be poor, a shadow boxing incident.

I have been trying to get it through to you, that what decides what you"ll do is what you see. No what you remember. Not what you know. Not what you think. But what you see.

There is a correlation among those... but ultimately all the thinking won"t make you see differently than what you see... no matter how many affirmations you"ll repeat.

I made a vision board, a collage of some 20 pictures, some 10 years ago. It is on my refrigerator door.

I have not made any moves towards any of the small pictures on it. Any.

Because all seeing comes with a "silent" speaking, and together what you see and what you said will become what Landmark calls "Occurrence"... So technically your actions will come from Occurrence.

occurrence: what you see plus what you say about it.

All those "realities" depicted on the individual pictures, are in the domain of "not possible for me" or "not important to me"... and thus: no action.

You are the same way, with a difference: you either lie to yourself, or you are completely deaf and blind... neither see nor hear.

So you HABITUALLY talk about impossible futures, and what you want, and what you wish for... while your actions aren"t in sync with what you say...

Students of mine who train with EyeQ are going through a miraculous brain training. It is not for everyone. If you are happy being dull, boring, and bored, it is not for you.

It prepared my brain to wake up and correct itself when I had my second major traumatic brain injury in 1998. There are hardly any symptoms remaining...

The price of comfort...

mlk-3Where did this humanity-wide phenomenon of being so weak... living like a putz come from?
Putz: putz
noun
1. a stupid or worthless person.
2. vulgar slang: a limp dick.
verb: putz; engage in inconsequential or unproductive activity.
origin: 1960s: Yiddish, literally ‘penis.’

I meant to share student essays on how self-created rules keep them alienated from themselves, keep them playing safe and dead... not joyful, not accomplished, not living a life worth living.

Then I changed my mind.

I had two calls, where I was training, each, a person to take on a practice to activate the capacity to be with unpleasant, bothersome, disturbing feelings and actions. To be a MAN...

This capacity used to be active in humans... but because of the widespread positive thinking and comfort: society now deems these situations, these feelings, these actions undesirable.

Result: the capacity went dormant, and people are suppressing the unpleasantness, and with that all the joys, all the ambitions, all what makes a person alive.

Dead-inside people, dead-inside society. Lifeless. SELF-less. Autonomy-less. Substance-less. The culture of butterflies... not MEN.

Don"t be mistaken: life is made up of 90% unpleasant tasks, unpleasant thoughts, unpleasant feelings. Every life. Everyone"s life... Including billionaires, you, and me.

As I was talking on the call I mentioned above, I used a turn of phrase that is not used in "normal" language: it is a technical term from a course I did in Landmark.

I felt the anxiety rise in the client and stop at the chest... solid, gripping.

The phrase I used "I took you to Paris..." [note]It simply means: hijacking the conversation, forcing it to go on a sidetrack. Much like taking an old lady across the street who didn"t want to go... Or hijacking an air plane heading to Ohio... instead to go to Paris. Clear enough? technical term... colorful language.[/note]

The situation calls for a "what the heck is Paris... where did that come from?!" uttered with a tinge of annoyance. Like a WTF... lol.

That would be a normal reaction... instead: the anxiety was there...

mlk-2But life is full of situations like that... I experience them daily. A word I don"t know in a book I read. An email that is not clear hits my inbox. A process I am trying to learn and the instructions sound gibberish to me, full of seemingly intelligent statements, except that they make no sense to me. Unpleasant, disturbing, annoying.

Most of you will go into the anxiety... and then quit. Quit listening, quit reading. Quit learning. Quit growing. Withdraw. Shrink. Become a putz.

Why? Because the cost of continuing is to say yes to that chest grabbing, throat grabbing feeling... and you are averse to it: you should not feel bad... you say, and you quit.

I have an environment full of quitters. Some last five minutes, some quite before they start.
  • My landlord doesn"t answer my email... I imagine he is putting his fingers in his ears and sings loudly: la-la-la... lol.

  • My Sunday friend resigns to working till he dies... because the alternative would include learning something... reading a book... and that feels unconfrontable.

  • And my students jump from one topic to the other... On one hand they are trying to fool me. On the other hand they are trying to fool themselves.Feeling bad about themselves is probably less painful than buckling down and actually doing something courageous: finish a book, practice the guitar... whatever they see that would take them to the good life.

We have a humanity bent on campaigning...

A campaign is a short term project. It is supposedly a quick solution to a problem.

Like a fence... putting it up in a hurry.

Temporary solution to a permanent issue.

The hasty solutions that make billionaire merchants and marketers.

And even if, accidentally, you buy a permanent, a good solution, your implementation is shabby... Just look what you have done with the Water Energizer... half assed... "too hard" you moan.

A few days ago I shared how I eat, how I turned my body into a fat burning metabolism, and how much better I feel.

Now everybody wants to do what I do. Some of what I do... without the effort.

What they don"t get... can"t get, is this: It"s taken me trials and errors, and then successful actions for almost six months.

After countless years of being a carb-burning machine [note]meaning that any fuel that hit my body was first converted into carbs in the liver, and used that way. And now that I am looking, I can see that my liver was always congested, and even hurt... even though they say the liver doesn"t hurt. My liver hurt... and it doesn"t hurt any more. It can use all its energies to remove toxins from my blood... And my body can happily use the fat as fat. One other unexpected thing happened: I am dropping the weight and there is no loose skin... I am going from tight to tight to tight... Whereas when you are a carb burning machine, your skin will hang loose on you if you attempt to drop weight.[/note] , the body is not very willing to change its ways... although it can.

But if you are interested in continuing to campaign in life, this is not a path you want to take.

According to muscle test, it takes, unless you make mistakes, four months for the body to change its "mind". Longer if you make mistakes, like eat treats...

In my humble opinion, you need to look at your life and need to make decisions about yourself and your life.

Is it worth to live a lifestyle consistent with being well, being intelligent, being a high vibration, high achiever person or not?

For most of you the answer is no. You say no, not me.

Because unless you make major changes in your lifestyle... i.e. build a fence with painstaking attention, for eternity, you will still remain in the world of "not worth a damn". [note]Here we are looking at your extrinsic worth.

Your intrinsic worth is innate and cannot be increased. But your extrinsic worth, your worth in the world, for the people you serve, the people that interact with you, your monetary worth needs to increase, because as a weakling, as a limp dick, as a campaigner you are not worth much. Definitely not worth your salary, your marriage, your perks...[/note]

I have had to decide to NEVER eat chocolate again. NEVER eat bread again. NEVER eat or drink anything that is not on my food list.

I have decided that it is worth it to me. That for a permanent wellness it is worth giving up the temporary pleasure.

And surprisingly, as my body adjusted, the cravings stopped too. I have pleasure eating what I am eating. Delicious.

change-dr-houseBut each seemingly tiny misstep, like having a cup of coffee with half and half in the grocery store, causes a whole week of carb cravings.

Your body asks for what will make it continue to be the way the last bite you gave it. Carb? it asks for carbs... and because of the yeast the carbs feed, it has a longer memory for carbs.

The body is not smart, it doesn"t have foresight, it doesn"t know the direction it"s going. And it doesn"t care...

You give it a small cookie, and now it will nag you for cookies and bread, and hot cocoa... persistently, like a little kid.

Are you able to say: it"s not worth it. It is not worth giving up a future that is wellness, and high energy, and high emotional and intellectual intelligence... for a darn little cookie...

Are you?

It doesn"t matter what I think. It doesn"t matter what I teach. It doesn"t matter what you would like.

It only matters what you decide.

The word "decide" has the same root as suicide, genocide. It means "killing".

Decide means "killing the alternative".

That is why it"s so effective, and that is why it is so hard to decide.

It is fraught with unpleasant feelings. Fear. Discomfort. Anxiety.

mlk-1Unless you activate that capacity... again... you are going to remain a limp dick... a putz... not worth a damn.

The moment your NEVER is: as soon as I drop the weight, get married, get that job... you will fall back to the ordinary life... guaranteed.

If I started to feel confident that I am now able to stay pretty and drink half and half... I would start to pack the pounds back on, be emotionally unbalanced (the sugar in the cream!). Guaranteed.

So don"t use a method as a temporary solution, unless you are committed, decided to live that way.

Please. Don"t be stupid.

Pattern recognition... or how widely and how deeply do you see?

From time to time I watch an animated feature movie on Netflix.

Those movies have the most clues for inner world patterns of all the movies... even though they are clearly designed to distribute memes... to train the next generations to become sheep.

But the artists that make the movies unwittingly, or defiantly, place some fundamental guidance and truth in those movies.

So it is with this little movie: Leap. (In other languages it is called the Ballerina)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDuCKktXTo8

It"s about a little orphan girl who lives in an orphanage, but dreams about becoming a dancer... a ballet dancer. She escapes the orphanage and goes to Paris to enroll in the famed ballet institute... to fulfill on her dream.

Through unpredictable events, she does... and though she can"t dance... a cleaning lady she finds turns out to be an ex famous dancer, until an accident made her an cripple. And she will become her mentor.

OK, here are the principles in the movie that stirred my inside up and explained a lot of things to me about me:
  • 1. When you or any one asks: why do you "dance" or whatever you picked to do with your life, the motivation to "dance" is inner, and inexhaustible... like a spring. Not money, not fame, but that inner spring.

You can simply ask yourself. If you say: because I like it... meh. It has to be deeper to make you want to do the work it takes to become good at anything, including the things you are naturally good at.

I learned an expression in Landmark. I don"t know where it came from, probably some famous philosopher. It says: "I can do no other"... Ed Deci, a psychologist, is trying to get to the source of this "I can do no other"... but of course it is fully in the invisible, so he can"t. You have to feel it.

Some aspects of architecture held "I can do no other" for me, but not more than 3%. The rest was drudgery.
  • 2. When you find that "I can do no other" then even teaching it, mentoring someone to do it, someone who has talent and that magical piece, will make you come alive...

I left architecture in 1988... and haven"t missed it. Not at all. That should tell you something.
  • 3. There is a huge gap between being just naturally good at something and the thing... The shift that bridges the gap comes to our young heroine in the form of gently falling bird feathers, that land softly.

She gets it... that is what was missing... that quality of floating... Once she gets that, she becomes trainable, because she is not on the inside of the gap.
  • 4. Once our heroine gets inside, she cannot be abused, called nothing, and cannot be victim. She will find her inner courage to say who she is, and protect it with all she has. Fiercely.

You can see that the process is not a 1-2-3 simple Huffington Post article... It is a process of becoming.

Another dance student dances, but dances without a heart. She dances because her mother wants her to. She could do anything... her heart isn"t into it. She is told what exercises to do... but no exercise gives you a heart. And although she will fight against anyone who threatens her, she isn"t able to fight FOR something, because she has no FOR.

Starts out and ends being the same person... no becoming. The "normal" result of a Huffington Post article... I am not picking on the Huffington Post... any and every 7-10% truth value article writer is without a depth, and without a heart.

In all of my observation of article writers I have seen only one person go through that gap... and become something else. James Altucher... and even he is not conscious of it, so he isn"t really nurturing the practices that got him there.
And if you are interested what was the 3% in architecture that supported me for 22 years so my spirit didn"t die was being fascinated with the invisible part of architecture, the inner dynamic of spaces.

Inner patterns, you could say. And little by little, with lots of wild turns, today I get to spend 50% of my time being engaged, examining, pondering, and discovering these inner patterns, with inner dynamic.

The rest of the time I sleep, and do mundane stuff... like everyone.

But my life is not mundane, albeit looks quite boring from the point of view of the uninitiated.

Get up, go to the bathroom, get dressed, drink some beverage... etc... sounds like everyone else"s life, doesn"t it?

But life has magic in it if you manage to hear your "I can do no other" calling.

PS: It turns out the Luther said that "I cannot and will not recant anything, for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Here I stand, I can do no other, so help me God. Amen." in April 1521. In German, of course.

PPS: Most people are blind to patterns. Most people are totally blind to the invisible. And most people can"t see it even when it"s pointed out to them. Let alone everywhere...

Find what is unique and special about you and hone it. Find mentor... do not go on your own. You can only get so far without a mentor. Guaranteed.

Of course if you are reserved, if you are unwilling to own what"s moving you, then you will be unwilling to get a mentor... and you"ll have a life of quiet desperation, like everyone else, in spite of your unique talent.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TV8lMFx4iaI

And because pattern recognition requires you to have certain spiritual capacities active, 99% of humanity has no access to it. In order to recognize patterns, 1. you need to be able to see the bigger picture, for example. 2. You need to see what"s in front of you, not a picture of it in your mind.

Without being able to see patterns and recognize them, without being able to observe them in reality, you won"t know much about yourself, and you won"t be able to see what your strengths are, what you enjoy, what excites you.

Sounds weird? Most things you read about are out of limits for you, unless you can see and recognize patterns in a wide range of areas.

Same with values... Reading about values isn"t the same as recognizing values. Same with patterns. And pretty much same with everything.

I am mercilessly removing students who prove themselves not even understanding the issue... It is not a good use of my time to invest in their training.

If you are part of the 99%, you may be really sidetracked by a desire to have something. Fame, fortune, fun.

But none those desires comes from within. What comes from within is what to do... not what to have. Even if it is peace, quiet, success, love, etc...

None of those keep the human spirit alive... instead they kill the human spirit.

Fulfillment... in your career, in your family, in your health, in happiness

Finding a fulfilling career can sometimes feel impossible. ... according to Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio. If you are one of the people who is complaining that you don"t know how to get that... here is the first step is clearly setting your goals.

"Your choice of goals will determine your direction,"

"There is always a best possible path. Your job is to find it and have the courage to follow it,"

He doesn"t say it, because he doesn"t know... but the number of people who simply want a happy fulfilling life without investing none of their time, none of their efforts in it is staggering.

If your desire number is higher than your ambition number, you are, for the time being, sh*t out of luck.

Of course I have students who went from 99% desire number to 10%... so it"s possible. And it is also a lot of work, a lot of learning, a lot of self-knowledge. But it is possible.

The first difficulty is: selecting the goals to go for... Don"t forget: most people don"t know what they want, especially if they actually have to do something for it.

Here are four pitfalls to avoid when choosing your goals.

1. Pitfall: Becoming overwhelmed with possibilities

First, you have to make big decisions about what you want most. That means
  • focusing on some priorities while

  • letting go of others.

"While you can have virtually anything you want, you can"t have everything you want," billionaire Dalio explains. "Life is like a giant smorgasbord with more delicious alternatives than you can ever hope to taste. Choosing a goal often means rejecting some things you want in order to get other things that you want or need even more."

Not being selective is a big mistake, Dalio says.

"Some people fail at this point, before they even start. Afraid to reject a good alternative for a better one, they try to pursue too many goals at once, achieving few or none of them," he writes. "Don"t let yourself be paralyzed by all the choices."

2. Pitfall: Confusing a goal with a desire

When you"re considering what priorities or ambitions to focus on, be clear about the difference between a goal and a desire.

"A proper goal is something that you really need to achieve," Dalio writes. "Desires are things that you want that can prevent you from reaching your goals."

As an example, "your goal might be physical fitness, while your desire is to eat good-tasting but unhealthy food," he writes. "Don"t get me wrong, if you want to be a couch potato, that"s fine with me. You can pursue whatever goals you want. But if you don"t want to be a couch potato, then you better not open that bag of chips."

When it comes to a career however, desires and goals can be aligned (unlike chips and healthy habits.) For example, if your desire is to spend time working with people instead of being trapped behind a desk, while your goal is to make a difference in your local community, find a job that lets you do both.

"Decide what you really want in life by reconciling your goals and your desires," Dalio writes. "What will ultimately fulfill you are things that feel right at both levels, as both desires and goals."

3. Pitfall: Focusing on the wrong reward

The motivation behind your goals should be about more than money, Dalio writes.

"Don"t mistake the trappings of success for success itself," he advises. "Achievement orientation is important, but people who obsess over a $1,200 pair of shoes or a fancy car are very rarely happy because they don"t know what it is they really want, and hence what will satisfy them."

Indeed, many successful entrepreneurs agree they were motivated by fulfillment, not money. Apple CEO Tim Cook, Richard Branson and even Warren Buffett are among the business leaders who advocate for finding meaning outside of wealth.

"Don"t work for money — it will wear out fast, or you"ll never make enough and you will never be happy, one or the other," Cook said in 2017.

4. Not dreaming big enough

When it comes to setting your goals, the sky is the limit. There are a few exceptions, like "playing center on a professional basketball team if you"re short, or running a four-minute mile at age 70," Dalio writes, but aside from that there is no dream too big to tackle.

"What you think is attainable is just a function of what you know at the moment," he writes. "Remember that great expectations create great capabilities. If you limit your goals to what you know you can achieve, you are setting the bar way too low."

Now, what should you take away from this all?

I suggest that you get that unless you have goals, you will never be fulfilled... it is like going on a sailing trip setting no destination... may be enjoyable for a day, maybe two days, but then it becomes boring, and you"ll become excitement seeker... because boredom is one of the enemies of fulfillment and happiness.

This is the biggest missing for people who come to me...they have no goals for their training, and hey have no goals for their life.

Big mistake.

Do generic health programs, like the Bulletproof Diet or Wildfit work?

Normally either someone uses these expensive and generic programs or opt to use my individual muscle tested diet for themselves. But it seems I got lucky, and one client first started to do the Bulletproof Diet... and then came to me for his individual food list and eating type.

The client got their Starting Point Measurements, that include their hydration and their health number.

His health was rated at 10%. He ate a vegan diet, which means no animal foods, not even eggs, or milk.

When he shifted to the Bulletproof Diet his health number jumped to 20%.

Encouraged, he asked for a full health consult... That was a few days ago... and now his health number is 30%. The new rise is partially still due to the Bulletproof Diet, and partially the new food list/eating style.

What is the difference between his standard Bulletproof Diet and his individual diet?

The biggest differences are quite significant:
  • 1. he has now no mammals" flesh, except an occasional serving of soft fleshed veal. His main protein source is fish, seafood, nuts, and seeds.

  • 2. absolutely no grains. A severe restriction on carb-containing foods, his most carb-rich food is red beets. Why? Because his unique situation with immune system destroying Candida, that needs to be kept in check.

  • 3. no oils... I have given an exception for the one cup of Bulletproof coffee, that has coconut oil in it... but no coconuts, even though he loves them. Why? Muscle test said "no".

  • 4. no butter, no dairy at all

Let me make some distinctions clear.

What do I mean by generic health programs?

Generic means a one size fit most approach.

And, of course, one size doesn"t fit most. But...

if the underlying assumptions for the species align with the majority of the target audience"s need, it will work to the degree that there are no individual specific needs. In my humble opinion, the Bulletproof Diet will work for 30% of North American people famously.

What about the 70%? It won"t work for them famously, in fact it won"t work at all.

Here is the The Bulletproof Diet"s pdf rules.

To be able to assess the Wild Fit program in detail, I need someone"s before and after... Do you know anyone who is thinking of starting that program?

Get rid of the memes... all of them are lies... Boys and girls, memes...

One of the most important principles in the 67 steps program is to get rid of a "truth" as often as you can.

No one hears it. No one does it. Why?

The mind says: why should I get rid of a piece of useful knowledge.

But here is the problem with "knowledge"... most knowledge you have is fabricated, with rendering you an effect... instead of cause. Rendering you unthinking... instead of making your own observations, testing, and real truth.

I question everything. And little by little, I get rid of stuff that has been declared true for centuries, often thousands of years.

Not a blanket rejection... No, that would be more of the same. No... on by one, investing work, thought, time.

I have a guy who likes to write comments on my site. His "knowledge", I just muscle tested, is 70% memes.

A meme is an untrue statement propagated as the truth.

Some people have their head filled more than others"... but we all believe some of them... get inspired by them, share it on social media... and other despicable activities.

All words. Males close with their mothers are especially harmed by all these words... Because the male brain is different from the female brain, in many ways.

I just watched a phenomenal TED talk by Mike Rowe, an actor who is in a TV show called Dirty Jobs.

Watch it. Maybe watch it a few times. It pierces quite a few manufactured memes... memes that make you unhappy, literally.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRVdiHu1VCc

And if you are man enough, come back and share. Be willing to be a bumbling idiot... it"s your authentic self really.

Am I insulting you? No, not at all. I think being a bumbling idiot is a much higher consciousness state than the state you like to be in: be sure, feel knowledgeable, competent, etc.

Only to discover that you are full of sh*t.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q490iOW_-Lg

Now, here is the million dollar question: if you are already screwed up, if your brain isn"t working the way it was designed to work for you (my brain is not different!) then what can you do?

I am still in research mode about that... but I have found some pointers:

1. your eye brain coordination needs to be developed. In normal boy-type upbringing this would not be an issue... I climbed trees, and did lots of other boys activities... but you may just start out.

The EyeQ program with its exercises seems like a good choice.

And your intense craving to be approved of... My hunch that we"ll be able to pull that, like an attachment, in the Activate Divinity program.

Misery is the other choice... of course. You can always remain miserable.

Boys don"t know how to be boys...

“If you want to emasculate a guy friend, when you’re at a restaurant, ask him everything that he’s going to order, and then when the waitress comes … order for him.” It’s funny because it shouldn’t be that easy to rob a man of his masculinity — but it is.

I am doing good work with the participants of my accountability program. ((People post optimally twice a day: first when they promise what the four tasks they will accomplish that day, and second when they come back to report if they did the tasks or not. I take an active role... give feedback, guidance, and share my own challenges with the intention to teach. ))

One of the things that have been coming up is this: what did it do to you to be influenced more by your mother than your father?

Don"t be mistaken: man and woman, boy and girl, father and mother are different beings... almost as different as if they were two different species. And it should be.

Now, I admit that our "civilized" world makes the two roles more similar looking, but just like in eating, what works best for you is eating according to your DNA, the same is true about gender behavior.

Men and women look at the world differently. Men come from strength (naturally) while women come from weakness, pretense, meekness, and attraction/catching/manipulating.

Two different approaches to life, and unless a boy has access to their own, unless a boy has permission to be a boy, they will develop a man-looking woman... and that is a sorry sight.

Feet stomping sissy boy.

In the Reclaim program one of the challenges is to design life, design your relationship, your attitude to things so that you come from your strengths.

For a man this would be natural... after all they are groomed to come from their strengths, to increase their strengths, not only physical, but all around.

For a girl that requirement is weird. They were never told anything about strengths... so it is a learning process, a coming to age process.

But in my program, to my amazement, every single participant is a little girls wondering about strength.

I was neglected by my mother, and I paid attention to my father more.

I evolved just the opposite way than my students: I am not a girlie girl... I know my strengths, and I know what I want. I don"t play games, and don"t apologize for my unfair advantage: knowledge, expertise, maybe even occasional brilliance.

It is becoming increasingly important to me to do work with my people that turns boys to boys and girls to girls.

Honestly, I have no clear idea how... in fact I have no idea how.

One experiment we are in the middle of: boys need to read boy-literature: it is needed for their healthy inner evolution into men.

Luckily that the only literature I like, so the books I read are perfect for my "boys": they are starting to see what inspires them, what they resonate with and what they don"t.

Knowing yourself for "who" you are is one of the most important things in life, if you want a chance for a life where you feel whole and complete.

Almost all the male achievers I have ever observed, they are clearer than the general population, by far, about who they are. the same cannot be said about the female achievers.

Achievement, the way we mean it nowadays, isn"t the feminine way...

But there is a feminine way to succeed... lots of books I haven"t read teach you that. Women who widowed with lots of kids, etc. grew to the challenge, and achieved the way a woman achieves.

But most of our parents weren"t achievers... achievers are rare, because achieving needs you to have initiative, vision, and the willingness to be guided by some purpose larger than yourself... mostly a principle.

If you look at yourself: that is not you. And you had no one to learn from, no one to emulate, and it is not one of those things that you can invent from thin air.

You learn it. From stories, from people to model after, from maybe historical figures. Poetry, good poetry puts you in touch with the inner world of exceptional people.

Truth be told, there is no English language poetry I resonate with, maybe with the exception of Rudyard Kipling"s poem to his son.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don"t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don"t give way to hating,
And yet don"t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you"ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build "em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds" worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that"s in it,
And—which is more—you"ll be a Man, my son!

Kipling is another author whose writing mainly resonates with boys. As is Jack London. As is Neal Stephenson.

I think this is the first step: to learn the language of boys, and to learn what your "soul" resonates with.

And women? Well, I think about that... I am certain they are off the natural path too.

Good reading I found while I was looking for pictures for this article.

Just for your information: I do not "research" what other people say... that would make me a second-hander. I write what is true for me... my experience with the subject matter...
