The invisible difference between a producer and you... it is in the how dimension of life

The secret of producers in the invisible (both to you and them!) dimension. They do something differently from you... and they don"t even know it. I am an empath... and I feel what you do, and I feel what they do... I feel your how...

One area where the two how"s are strikingly different is your self-image. This is crucial... by the way. So please pay attention.

I won"t charge you a million dollars, even though it would be worth it.

You are who you are, the many different characteristics that describe what you do, how you feel, what you go for, and what you shun... are all a result of decisions you made when you were upset, in trouble, and when your brain misbehaved.

When I ask you about those decisions, one by one, and ask you if you would sit down on a rainy Sunday afternoon, and contemplate how to get the most out of life, would you would have come up with these same decisions?

I have asked this question from many of you, and all of you said: no way. And yet this is how you are, this is how you do or don"t do things... and the results, for your life, are rarely nurturing, rarely causing your life to be the way you want it to be: productive, with some adventure, with some love, with some me-time... no. Most of us don"t live that way.

Instead we live a life where most of it we don"t like, we don"t want, and complain about it, maybe to just to our pillows.

Unbeknownst to you, there is a reason why you are trapped in this identity... and why you haven"t been able to break out of it and start living a life that is worth living.

It is all in how you read, how you learn, how you work... In the invisible dimension of life.

The most important thing that people don"t learn in the Learning to Learn course is...

The most important thing that people don"t learn in the Learning to Learn course is probably the only important thing to learn... Pomodoro, and other tricks are nice, but they are a little like using makeup: they cover up that in the foundation of your life you are doing something that makes you ugly, or unable, or unwilling to use your equipment the way it was intended.

The first important thing to learn in the Learning to Learn is the scarce availability of slots on your working memory. In computer language, the working memory is your RAM, random access memory.

You can make a computer twice as fast by adding more RAM.

Why? Because for life, for calculations, your brain, the computer, needs space and slots to be effective.

So what does that teach you? What could that teach you if you cared? What could that teach you if you understood what they are talking about?

Simple: anything that doesn"t specifically requires your working memory should not be done with working memory.

How, what, how do you do that?

Simple: almost everything you do now is wrong. So we, as is usual, will go for the Anna Karenina principle: every happy family is happy in the same way, while every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.

What does that mean in the area of how you use your brain?

Every productive person is productive in the same way, while every unproductive person is unproductive in their own way.

So how does it look in life?

  • 1. Productive people have routines for most of the things they do.

They don"t use their scarce resources to decide what to wear, what to do when, what to eat, not even to read. Maybe not even to produce. They jealously guard their short term memory, so when the opportunity comes, when they have to make some important decisions, they are available.

Every choice you make uses up slots in your working memory. And while the course doesn"t say it, every choice uses up glycogen, a kind of sugar that feeds the brain, and is in short, limited supply.

The student who, between study session, plays computer games, has neither free slots, nor glycogen to get the hard work of studying done.

If you really look, every producer, whether they produce in business, literature, philosophy, politics, or sports, live a boring life from the outside: the excitement YOU try to add to every moment of your life makes you an underachiever, because all that excitement comes from rash decisions, and uses up your brain slots and your glycogen.

Also, producers are not talkers. Talking comes using the short term memory slots, so talkers are rarely producers. Why? they can"t... they don"t have the raw material to support producing.

  • 2. Raft building

The second fundamental difference between a productive person and an unproductive person is their long term memory and the number of connected chunks they can use to produce with.

What is this chunks thing?

It"s simple. Here is an example: you are reading something. If you read to get the reading done (homework attitude), if you read to get enjoyment, or if you are reading to get answers to some questions, you read with a focused mind: your working memory, your working part of your brain.

You "lean" too close, because of your agenda, and you focus on the words, and see nothing beyond them.

While chunks don"t form when you have a narrow focus. Especially not the kind of chunks that will be useful later on.

How do producers read?

They read while they "hang back". They read inside the big picture, always seeing the material connecting to other areas of knowledge, their personal experiences, and those connections are what allow the material to turn into chunks, and eventually create entire rafts on which you can cross the Pacific Ocean... the size of trips required when you are a producer.

In essence, a producer does everything in the big picture view, Only in the big picture view one can create large chunks of neurons that fire together, to solve big problems.

When I listen to the partner calls, everyone is on a slightly different level of vibration, but every single participant is concerned with non-important things, like what other people think about them, how they feel, and how they are doing on the call.

To be interested in any of that, you need to lean in... and be in focused mode...
Result: you don"t learn the material, and you remain an underachiever.

How I do it

I am sitting in front of my panorama window, overlooking a valley and the next hill towards on the east side of the house where I live.

I have trees, the deck with the bird bath, snow accumulating on the low walls on the side. Houses with snow on the roofs, the rising sun is glinting, and the sky is many different colors.

Why am I telling you this? Because even writing an articles must be done in wide cone of vision, with the fuzzy brain state.

I need to be present to how the words will land... and that is definitely outside of the narrow, focused cone of vision where any of you live... as if it were the only place to live.

Often participants speak over me, or other participants on calls... they can"t hear, can"t listen when they want to speak.

Narrow cone of vision. The more you do that, the narrower your cone of vision... and the less your efforts build a raft to get things done with...

One could safely say that the size of your life is the size of your cone of vision... And for most of you, that is pitifully small.

You narrow your cone of vision even further when you are afraid, or when you are trying hard.

And your results are disappointing, and you think that you are condemned to that small life... but you are mistaken. It is an optical illusion: the wider your cone of vision, the more resources you can summon, the more resources you can build, and little by little, create a big life with a big ability to live it.

This is the only two things worth learning in the Learning to Learn course...

And then bring that to my courses, to the Playground, to my invisibles, to coaching, and every action you"ll take will build a raft... even the activity of energizing your water, or eating the foods on your food list. Your partner calls... Everything you do.

Apropos partner calls. Yesterday two people remarked that they don"t want to bore me.

That came from projecting their narrow cone of vision on me...

I hear what you are saying on the calls, I hear who you are being, I hear all your emotional baggage, I hear your relationship to yourself and to others... and it is never boring. Frustrating, because I can"t redirect you: I am listening to the recording of the calls... but never boring.

Nothing is boring. If anything feels boring, consider that YOU are boring, because inside the narrow cone of vision, nothing is allowed to show other than what you are focusing on.

And that little thing may be boring, but the world inside which it is a little thing isn"t...

Producers are never bored. For them everything is interesting, because they deal with, look at the tapestry of life, and that, my friends, is mighty interesting.

It"s not all about you.

PS: for most people the invisible realm, the invisible dynamic of reality IS invisible. So they talk about what is visible, but miss the why of things, miss the part that justifies and explains why things work the way they do.

Such is the case with habits, routines of high producers.

I see hundreds, maybe thousands of articles that talk about the visible parts... these are some of the most shared articles... and yet no one is becoming a producer by using the methods... because the invisible part is not seen and therefore cannot be duplicated.

I attempted to add that missing piece of the puzzle, the invisible part, that 99% of humanity misses... and most likely you.

Can I teach you to look at the world with wide cone of vision?

I am afraid not. you have to teach yourself.

It is a capacity, a DNA capacity, that is inactive in the 99%, inactive because the 99% don"t call on it.

If you consciously practice it for any length of time, it may open. It is hard.

I can activate that capacity, energetically, but you till have to practice it. The activation keeps the capacity open for 72 hours, but if you don"t intensely and diligently use it, if you don"t need it, it shuts down: the body won"t keep it open.

Be thoughtful. Have a plan on how to keep it open... just like you would if you wanted to turn from carb burner to fat burner... you would have stuff that helps it for at least three days, and nothing that blocks it... so it is with capacities as well.

I can do an activation only when I connect to you empathically. I don"t use any cords, any channels, I merge my body with yours, and perform the activation on my own body that is merged with yours. Tricky, isn"t it? But it works. That is the method of the empath. I don"t feel you out there, I feel you in here.

Do you want this capacity? The capacity of producers?

If you drop the ball, you have to pay again after 72 hours...

Ask me to turn on your Big Picture DNA capacity
PPS: In playing paintball and many other games, surprisingly, again, the only mode that allows you to win, is the diffuse, wide angle mode... No kidding. Focused mode gets you killed... every time.

PPPS: the larger monitor you use the harder it is to include what is outside of your computer monitor... I still work on a 17 inch monitor...

Can you tell what size is your cone of vision? Look to what degree your life is fragmented...

Your vibration, your creativity, your truth value all depends on your cone of vision... But until you see that you have a narrow cone of vision, that you look at things with narrow cone of vision, or a narrow filter, you won"t want to make it wider.

Wide cone of vision means inclusive... narrow cone of vision is exclusive... exclusive of areas that you KNOW don"t matter, don"t belong, or you don"t like them. Exclusive because you KNOW the answer...

The most exciting insights first show up in the corner of your eyes... Which means they are literally outside of your cone of vision.

One way I see this is how attached you are to one area of life, or one way to do it, or one problem you have.

Overconfidence... do you screw up because of it? Or the opposite? lol

rushing to conclusionMy soul correction is "Forget Thyself".

One aspect of this soul correction is overconfidence. I have to invent tricks to counter it, but, from time to time, it creates hell in my life... like right now.

You know I have been working on this human biting mites, or said in another way: microscopic mites that bite humans, live on and in humans, torture humans; avoid detection, so doctors don"t know about them, blame chemicals, viruses, allergies, infections, etc. to cover up that they have no idea.

cost-overconfidence

unaware-unskilledWell, if I count how many times I was sure that I got the solution, only to see that a. it wasn"t a solution yet, b. that my solution made more trouble than I had before, c. to stop doing what I knew worked, and declared victory prematurely.

I could probably count more than there are fingers on my two hands.

Now, I am sure you say "thank god I am not like that" but you are probably kidding yourself: it is as human as anything, to jump into conclusions.

The art is not to never jump into conclusions. The art is to stay awake, stay aware, and admit the mistake. To go back to the drawing board, and continue looking, or to start all over again.

I told you I was a scientist by nature, and many scientists are this way. This is why of 135,000 pharmaceutical submissions a year, only a handful of medicines pass the muster...

So, if you are like me, jump into conclusion, know when you don"t... don"t try to change. Try to learn how to be someone who can make corrections.

tacking_drawingYou see the shortest distance between two points is a zig zag. Not on the drawing board, in real life.

1-1-1The easiest way to see this is sailing.

course-correctionIf you want to sail from point A to point B, listen up! is to first start moving.

sailing-straight-into-the-windA vessel that is not in motion cannot be directed at all. You need to make the vessel move, and then you can use the rudder... steering wheel, correction, whatever you want to call that "thing" that you operate to change directions.

So now the vessel is moving, so you change directions, and now the vessel is crossing the imaginary straight line between points A and B, but at least it"s moving. Now you can zig-zag your way to your goal, to your destination.

Most people are afraid to get started, because they don"t want to make a mistake. The don"t move, waffle, hesitate, plan some more, ask more advice, talk some more... because they can"t see that the only way to do anything is to start moving, start moving to the wrong direction. And be masterful at course-correction...

Of course, one of the reason people don"t want to start in the wrong direction, because they know that they get all busy doing the wrong thing: they know that they can"t keep a distance between themselves and the project: that they don"t have an active Observer.

They also know that they are so afraid that they will rub their nose into the thing... narrow cone of vision, losing perspective, losing the context, accidents, tragedies, losses result.

ALT_10.14.13But, for crying out loud, it is so easy to keep a distance! It is so easy to not get involved. It is so easy to stay aware, or at least put into your scheduler every 4-5 hours: "check where we are going! Make course corrections if necessary."

Between those that jump and quit, those that jump and go to hell, or those that never start... there are a few people, less than one percent, that actually enjoy "sailing", enjoy the zig-zag, enjoy the way life works, instead of hoping it will work differently.

Get to know yourself, both who you are that works, and what you do that doesn"t.

doubt-is-intelligentBut for that, ugh, you"ll have to keep your eyes open, and keep yourself at a slight distance, so you can see.

PS: You can be overconfident in yourself, in another, in what you read, in the Bible, in a method, in what somebody said... even in me. Don"t do it. It makes you stupid...

6-PerspectiveMy method of getting to the truth is called the Bumbling Idiot"s method... you keep on bumbling, with your eyes open, aware, paying attention to all the feedback, and you get to where you wanted to get. It"s not elegant, but it is very effective. You won"t impress... but your results will.

And, of course, the now customary video, that only loosely relates:

Seeing... one of the Metaskills that will raise your vibration

I am reading the Metaskills book.

I am reading it for you and for me.

This book has given me a big insight... and ultimately a breakthrough, though we shall see...

OK, let me start at the beginning.

Most books are either easy or difficult to read. Why? I just found out.

This book, the Metaskills was alternating between easy to read and difficult to read.

At some point it felt like thick mud I needed to wade through.

Why? I had no idea how what he was talking about was connecting to what the book was supposedly about.

I am nearly certain that this happens to you often. The thought is "What does this have to do with the price of tea in China?" or some other dismissive thought.

I was turning the pages back to find the context. Context is what makes something make sense. Context is like the box telling you what"s in it... Sometimes the part doesn"t tell you how it belongs.

My "not self" is frustration. Yours may be anger, fear, discouragement, or boasting...

I am also a blamer. When I am frustrated I instantly blame something or someone. I don"t have to think about it. It"s automatic.

So when the reading was getting hard, and I had no idea why he wrote what he wrote, I blamed the author, I blamed the editor, I blamed my stupidity...

But when I tried to find the context, and found it, a whole new world opened up.

I realized that this guy is working on a very very very big canvas. I thought I had a big canvas, and I did. I just recently was able to upgrade it... I have been able to see things connecting over a big canvas. This jump in the size gave a 15 point jump to my IQ too.

But this guy"s canvas, the "box" is way bigger than what I am used to.

It took me work to catch up to it, but I did. Hanging on with all my might... barely.

So how does this work? I call the size of the canvas your cone of vision. In camera language, how wide angle is the picture you can take. How wide you can see everything.

Because the world is so busy, and because it feels distracting. humans narrow their cone of vision as a defense of their space, themselves.

It feels totally logical, but it actually causes a big mischief. A bunch of symptoms, including symptoms similar to agoraphobia...

But beyond that, it causes a marked lowering of your IQ. Why? Because you start to make decisions that feel true inside the two-bit picture you see, but are completely and totally inaccurate in a wider context.

In the two-bit picture the only question you have: which one. Either one or the other.

But in the big picture you can ask many questions that don"t get you stuck with the binary mindset: how, what, where...

Depending on the questions you ask, your life is miserable, or your life is an adventure.

If your life doesn"t feel like an adventure, you can be sure that your cone of vision, the canvas you live your life on is very narrow.

This narrowing of your cone of vision is a behavioral disability. It is not a brain disorder, or an eye disorder. It is a lot like diabetes: it is the result of behavior.

Fear based. Desire for the self alone.

But it is counter-instinctive... this narrow cone of vision further cause you to narrow your cone of vision.

When I went to the behavioral eye doctor in 1996, I was in pitiful emotional state.

My eye training was six months long and it was expensive. Very expensive.

I had to do exercises I had to do with 3-d glasses. Then exercises walking in the street, or driving. And exercises crawling on the floor.

I still practice the second exercise when I start feeling that my world is closing down on me. When fear starts to take over.

After the elections I had to practice daily to be able to keep my spirits up.

What"s the connection between fear and your cone of vision?

When your cone of vision narrows, everything outside of that narrow cone shows up as a threat. Movements there are in the shadows. You narrowed your cone of vision to answer your fears, and it caused you to have more fear. Bummer.

Why crawling on the floor was part of the method?

One of the most useful methods to combat fear is to look at what is scary, from another angle.

When you crawl, you train your brain to do that: look at your world from a different angle. Even the scariest things look less scary or not scary from a different angle, or when you look at them straight.

For example feelings. When you can take out the feeling and examine it on the palm of your hand, you can see, always, that it"s just a feeling. Not that big scary hairy monster it looked from your usual vantage point... inside.

The Metaskills book forced me to widen my cone of vision... and it suggested that I can also control the length of the vision, or depth in camera language... that is the time factor.

The book says that this is one of the skills that will allow the person with this skill to survive and maybe even thrive in the upcoming Robotic Age.

Why? Because problem solving is one of the values a person can provide. The bigger problems you solve, the higher your salary or pay.
  • A server in a restaurant can get away with solving small problems.

  • A marriage counselor is forced to solve bigger problems that are harder to solve.

  • A CPA/financial advisor, when they solve an even bigger problem, the result can be a lot more money for the client.

The solution is only possible when you can see, accurately, the cause of the problem, and the environment around them.
  • One of my students is a heavy machinery mechanic: the number of causes to any problem can be many.More often than not, the cause of the problem is smack on the opposite side of his "canvas", his cone of vision, and he needs to get to it, without losing sight of the problem.Which means: his job cannot be done well with a narrow cone of vision.

  • Another one of my students owns a paving company. He started out with a very narrow cone of vision. And he was suffering, and the company was barely surviving. With the work he did with the 67 steps, and listening to my Sunday Rants, his cone of vision is almost as wide as it needs to become to take the company to the next level from where it can not just survive, but grow.

Now, truth be told, depending on your occupation, if your job is easy and routine, you may have to be forced to widen your cone of vision, and to lengthen the depth (time).

If your job is not suitable, you"ll have to do exercises, instead of just doing your job with an ever widening cone of vision. Or add harder problems to solve as a hobby.
  • One of my students is stuck, and has been stuck for a year writing his thesis to get a degree. He has an issue both in the width and the depth of his vision... He cannot see the causality. Everything that is outside of his cone of vision shows up as threatening or a disruption. And he cannot see the depth, the consequences of his actions and inaction over time.Unless and until he does, he"s remain stuck. What a pity.He does have the perfect environment to train himself, but he would have to start... And thus far he has not.

When I did the eye training back in 1996, I didn"t really know how to grow from this ability. And I didn"t, or not really.

I felt better, I had a little bit more freedom, but still no growth.

When you consider your physical "disability" physical only, or mindset only, you may fix yourself, but you won"t grow.

Only when you can see the two opposite edges of the canvas, one side the cause, the other side the effect or the issue... that you suddenly feel inspired, and motivated to conquer the new world the solution can give you. How you can dance to the result, how you can dance to the future.

I learned how to take control of my eyes, I experienced less fear, but I didn"t know that I could use that bigger cone of vision to evaluate causes to my misery, and the longer cone... to see the effects of my actions before I took them.

That came much later.

The Sunday Rants faithfully document my growth, my insights, and my cone of vision changing over the years.

I have been having this calls since 2007, but have been posting the recordings only since March of last year.

I charge $20 per call. They are worth a lot of money in the right hands. They may be worthless to you.

If someone subscribes: it"s $15/per week.

Because they are not lectures, but a conversation with someone who is a lot like you, the calls are a lot more effective than a lecture can ever be.

Yesterday I bought two lectures for 90 bucks. One of them has completely lost me: I have no foundation to even understand what the guy is talking about.

But for someone who regularly reads my articles, who participate with me, these are a treasure trove, because of the type of call, and because the personal details I go into, the stories, etc. That I don"t have time, don"t think to, or can"t share on my blog.

One of the big advantages of listening to the calls is hearing that I struggle too, and how I get out of the stuck states. Emotional, financial, relationship, learning, mindset issues all come up. I don"t do these calls for you. I do them for me.

This is my "spiritual practice" to get unstuck, and to keep myself in growth mode. To widen my cone of vision.

It is the closest thing you can get to model after me, if you are so inclined.

Of course if you say to yourself "You are the last person I want to model after..." then don"t waste your time.

Even though Lincoln and other smart people have said: I learn from everyone I talk to. Mostly how not to think, how not to behave, but I learn, nevertheless.

Because you can learn from everyone. I do.

You have to ask for the link to pay: because these are private calls, I pick and choose who I allow to listen.

I like to sell stuff as much as the next guy, but I am very choosy who I want inside my inner circle of intimates.

Abilities that are not available until your health number is above 30%

When you are not well, you are in survival mode. You live in scarcity. Everything seems to be about you. And not much can change about your life... given the focus (me-me-me) and therefore the questions you ask.

In scarcity everything is an is, and the questions you ask are from that "is". Everything needs to be fixed, and you can"t very well leave things alone: they are wrong, wrong, wrong. Ugh...

You ask why question. Why is this happening to me? Why are you treating me like this? Why can"t I blah blah blah... get rich, understand, be loved, get well... you know those whiny questions that don"t make a difference, they just make you feel even worse.

"They" teach you that you can change your mindset, that you can easily get out of the scarcity mindset, but they are lying. They ignore that your existence is based on your physical well-being (and vice versa!) and unless you get better, nothing will change.

Your whole being comes from your physiology, mostly from your digestive tract, and thus your eating. Bummer, eh?

When you are well, you can start to ask different questions

  • Questions that widen your cone of vision, allow to see wider than the tiny focus, you see things in your peripheral vision,

  • questions that deepen your field of depth perception, see process, see you several steps ahead.

Questions like:
  • What am I missing here?

  • What else could I/should I be asking?

  • What am I not looking at?

  • What is outside of my survival, business as usual narrow cone of vision?

  • What is the cause? What is the effect?

  • What am I resisting?

  • What am I locked in?

The new questions point in the direction that can create new habits, new ways of seeing, new ways of doing things.

But there is a caveat: Even after people getting healthy or healthier (above 30%), changing habits, even though you can, doesn"t come naturally.

Survival mode is most recognized by the narrow cone of vision. Your vision, what you see the size of a tiny circle illuminated by a penlight... Mostly me-me-me.

Narrow cone of vision is much like looking through a peep hole. What comes through is disjointed, because you cannot see the connections. You also hear the same way.

Because things are not connected, they seem separate, or causal. All delusional... In reality everything is connected to everything else.

So once you can, you will need to start training yourself to look at more than what you have been looking. And to look differently than you have been looking.

If you are in my Reclaim your Life coaching program, I"ll know that you are starting to get there, when you get out from behind your own eye balls, and start to see other people, other people"s needs, points of view, not just your own.

I will see from the fact that you"ll start looking at more than just what is right in front of your nose.

Believe it or not, that is the crucial difference between successful people and people who live life like it is a job.

You can play chess with a narrow cone of vision, being able to see only the next step, or you can play by seeing the whole board, see the strategy and intention of the opponent, see your options...

Playing chess/life that wide angle way needs you to have energy, but having energy doesn"t guarantee that you"ll play/live that way.

So health is the condition of spiritual and personal growth, not the result of it, or not all of it.

I realized that all the things a coach can to do for you are ineffective until you have the energy to spare to look at something that is outside of your narrow cone of vision.

And I realized something really important: everyone is talking abut the power of your word, the power of attitude, being, blah blah blah, and none of those people make any difference.

Now it is obvious why. All those things are secondary to being a physical being who has energy to spare.

I have never spoken to a person who had energy to spare...

When you are in survival mode, the mind controls what you say, and every sentence that comes out of there is a conclusion... A way to close down reality. The way to make it an IS.

Nothing open ended ever comes from the mind.

And open end needs energy... but you need that same energy for survival.

Your teachers, your gurus, your politicians, your scientists are the same way. In survival mode.

When you become someone who comes out of that survival mode, the world is your oyster.

My only regret is that getting you well cannot be scaled up... that your getting well needs me to figure out for you what it is that you need, what it is that you can eat. Because it is individual... based on your DNA, your past eating, your developed health issues.

If I could teach it, or put it on a computer, the future of humanity would be vastly different.

Find out your health number...

In addition to your health number, you"ll get all the relevant numbers that show you how and what way you render yourself and your life to go in the opposite direction than you"d want it to go.

A spiritual practice that can change all the numbers in your Starting Point Measurements

If you"ve bought into the b.s. that thinking good thoughts, happy thoughts, being non-judgmental is good for you, ((Over 1 TRILLION, that is a thousand billion pages tout the misdirection perpetuated on you!)) then your vibration is low, but more importantly, your vibration cannot be raised, unless you let go of this b.s.

Let"s turn this baby on its head: if you bought into the b.s. that your thoughts create your reality, and you need to avoid thinking bad thoughts regarding yourself, the world, the future, other people, because it makes you and your life bad... then there is nothing I can ever do for you, unless you change your mind.

Why? Because you refuse to interact with reality, you refuse to base your actions on reality.

Reality is neither good nor bad, it is what it is.

  • Things mostly don"t turn out.

  • People are doing whatever they are doing, and they are hardly ever doing good things, right things, neither for themselves or for you

  • Work is hard, or boring, and to learn anything new you need to feel stupid, weak, incompetent, and you probably are.

  • Things don"t fill you up, and your life is meaningless. You"re responsible for all of it... and it doesn"t feel good at all.

So you see that for life to work for you, you need to be able to be with, without losing power, without covering your eyes, with life exactly the way life is. Good, bad, ugly... all of it.

That positive thinking b.s. trained you to be a Twitchy Little Bastard, a sissy, a wuss, a weakling.

Facing reality needs you to raise your TLB.

One of the alarming symptoms I see on my webinars is that people are unwilling to critique, assess, evaluate their peers.

In your head, I know, you judge them.

But judging is a low vibration, low intelligence, low evolutionary activity, because judging means you use the two prong approach: good/bad, nice/nasty, etc. level.

Assessing, assessment is a method that goes beyond the two prong: you actually need to see, need to notice, need to accurately identify what you see. Behavior, looks, knowledge, attitude, speaking, relationship, etc.

If you don"t know the difference between judging (two prong, opinionated, guilty/not guilty etc.) and assessment (red, pudgy, harsh, loud, overwhelming, rambling, self-promoting, etc.) then you are stuck in the lowest gear of your "vehicle" that can take you to success.

Your accurate vocabulary of reality is low, and your vibration is low. With your low numbers, you make poor decisions, you listen to the wrong people, you fancy yourself superior... while your results are pitiful, your actions don"t amount to much, and you suffer.

You need to learn to assess, richly and accurately. But because you can get to rich and accurate assessment, you need to crawl before you can run.

And you need to make it a practice.

This is what happens when you first do that: you"ll take your eyes of the imaginary focus that your judgment implies.

You will still judge. Why? It is a habit. But you won"t be stuck on that level...

The other day a new person joined the exercise class for older people.

I asked her name, introduced myself, shake hands.

And then I did my thing... which she didn"t like. She was frowning, scowling, staring at me.

Obviously I had a judgment about her... But I caught it... and started to expand the cone of vision, and noticed her hair... wig. Noticed her body... skinny. Noticed her legs... wobbly. I didn"t even have to go beyond that third assessment: I felt wild compassion for her. She was frail, weak, and her legs barely carried her. And I was OK with her judgment of me...

Obviously this is easier for me that it is for you: my accurate vocabulary 5,000, and yours is probably below 1000.

Most people I measure clock in around 300.

But doing this exercise religiously does several things in your Starting Point Measurements:

  • 1. it takes your attention off me-myself-and-I

  • 2. it forces your awareness to grow, little by little

  • 3. it takes you out of Plato"s Cave, the mind. Inside the mind you cannot do this, you have to come out and look... in reality.

  • 4. it increases your accurate vocabulary AND your worth a damn factor... slowly but surely. Your vibration cannot be far behind...

Notice that I didn"t say: say something nice about them... that "nice" comes from positive thinking, or wanting to be nice, or make it all right... all low vibration inclinations. No. I said: start noticing other things about them, things you can see, right now! Physical characteristics, or facial expression!

If you go to the past, into your memory, to excuse them from wrong-doing, or to remember that you like them, love them, etc. then you are doing an exercise to lower your vibration!

This exercise is a lot like my "locate your feet" exercise.

The goal of this and the "locate your feet" exercise is to bring you to the here and now, out of your mind, out of your internal dialog, out of Plato"s Cave.

I have students who don"t understand that, and they remain in the Cave...

Because how you do anything is how you do everything.

The magic this little exercise does, done several times a day, forever, consistently, is bring you out into reality, where life is. And that is the hardest and most significant thing you can do for yourself.

What if the person judged is yourself?

You judge yourself all the time, don"t you? And you are not kind to yourself. Or too kind... if you have narcissistic tendencies, which are obvious if your delusion number is higher than 30%... this number is also part of the Starting Point Measurements.

So you catch yourself judging yourself... the process is the same. All judgment happens in the cave of your mind!

So let"s say I make a mistake and accidentally destroy a new equipment I just bought for a lot of money. Irreparable.

I pass the judgment... and then look at things that are not in my mind. I am still alive. I am walking. I am hot. I am cold. I am dressed in shorts and t-shirt. I am breathing in gasps. I am frowning. I have short hair...

I do it until I am sure I can see a person there and I can hold the image of a person, instead of that a**hole who did whatever I did.

In essence, I located my feet.

What causes the physiological changes is not forcing my breath to slow down. Not forcing my face to smile. Not thinking positive thoughts. No, what causes all that is widening my cone of vision, and looking in reality.

Everything, everyone, every bad thing is a tiny and insignificant part of reality. Only when your cone of vision is filled by it then it"s a big deal.

You are not conscious of your cone of vision, this is why you need exercises to widen it.

I have to do this, some days, 10-20-30 times.

The other day I was talking to someone who was rubbing me the wrong way. I had my finger poised over the "off" button... every fiber of my being wanted to hang up on her. But I kept enlarging my cone of vision, diligently, for the entire duration of the call. It was work, it was hard, but I did it. And I am better for it.

Now, do I want people who rub me the wrong way in my life? No, I don"t. So I let her go... But not while I was reactive, not because I had a judgment. I did it after the call... sat with myself, and looked if this person I can contribute to, if this person adds anything to my life. Not from judgment: from assessment.

Here is another example: your loved one, your spouse or your child is misbehaving in public.

You are upset. It feels that they upset you, but truth be told: you don"t want their behavior reflect badly on you. You want to preserve your "I am good" delusion, and your precious "I" is what is making you upset.

The practice is the same. But this time you need to take your eyes of your precious I, and look at the person, or persons, instead. And start noticing things about them: their hair, their teeth, their facial expression, their posture... make sure you add words... no words, you are still in your head, you are still about yourself.

It will be hard... but it will set you free. And it will allow you to add moments to your life when not everything is about you.

I"d hate to be your child, I"d hate to be your spouse... If you can"t find even moments when you are not about you...

I had one moment with my mother when she wasn"t all about herself. When she saw me for the first time... It lasted a few seconds. I was 45 years old.

And I also remember the moment with my mother, when I first saw her as a person... not who she was supposed to be for me.

Life alters when you do this exercise the way it is supposed to be done. In reality.
