Feelings, emotions... what should you do with them? or When you have a hammer, you don"t want any other tools...

Most people have one or two tools in their tool box... And what is even stranger: they don"t want any more. Why?

Some of you cannot deal with complexity, and therefore you will deny your right to feel feelings. And some of you will indulge your feelings and never look, never ask any probing questions that could let you see what is really going on...

What am I talking about?

In the Playground program, always starting new groups, we attempt to bring clarity to life, we attempt to reclaim our power over our lives by separating what life seems to be, what seems to be happening in many different ways. One of these is having a "reality" side, everything a Martian could see or detect, and another that is all words.

But where do feelings, emotions fall? They are there, as a component, demanding to take over life, demanding of us to base all our decisions on them. They jerk our chains, and they leave us no sense of self-determination.

So what does the Playground teach about them, how can you look at them so you can have them, and they don"t have you?

After all if you can snap, if you can cut the chains, the puppet strings, then you could have the emotions and still would have YOU, don"t you think?

And this is the goal of the Playground, that you learn to be YOU, even though human culture doesn"t want you to be, human culture, the crab bucket, the chicken coop, wants you to be a puppet on a string.

The goal of the Playground is to get you to "having". Having YOU and the emotions side by side. It doesn"t require you to control the emotions: the emotions are what the emotions are. You are the watcher... You are neither entangled, nor run by them. You don"t deny them. You don"t ignore them completely, you look at them when you have the moment to spare.

One of my students is a full blown empath. ((An interesting tidbit: empaths are not empathic, and sensitives are not sensitive. Both of those, empathic or empathetic and sensitive are beings... and it is hard for someone who feels others emotions to get into that beingness... interesting, right?)) Being an empath myself, I know that an unconscious empath IS a drama queen, out of control drama queen.

The feelings/emotions of others come uninvited, and have no connection to anything going on. The mind, the diligent "meaning making machine" will explain why you SHOULD feel what you are feeling, and thus jerk your chain.

So I taught him to ask the question: do I have a reason to feel this way? And 99% of the time, the answer is no.

Now, this question isn"t only for empaths.

You can ask the same question, and when you do, you"ll see something interesting.

The question will bring up a possible interpretation of reality, an interpretation of words other said, that, you will see, are automatic and senseless...

The other possible thing that the question will bring up is that indeed you have a reason to feel the way you feel: you are doing something wrong, you are heading the wrong way in life, and it is incumbent upon you to change directions.

There are some simple feelings that even animals feel, and they are guiding, directing feelings. Anger, sadness, pain, certain desires, etc.

Sadness is caused by a sense of loss... And you will feel a sense of loss with some regularity. Why? Because every time you do something, you are not doing something else, that is now lost to you. Every time. So the sadness accumulates, and then breaks through your threshold, and then you feel it.

You, occasionally, will know what losses you have accumulated. Suppressing the feeling, or reacting to it by eating, sexing, gaming, TV is silly: you are suppressing something that teaches you to know what is important to you, what you value but not honor. ((by the way, envy has a chance to signal the exact same thing for you... what you want but are unwilling to work towards...))

You dishonor many things, many people, things/people you say you value, things and people that you shortchange, give lip-service to, but no action.

The sadness is completely and totally justified. To fully benefit from the lesson, you need to be willing to own who you are being, who you have been being... and that is not easy.

Mostly you have been stingy, or self-indulgent, or cowardly, or lazy, or belligerent, or punishing, or hateful... and to look that in the eye is hard.

My hunch is that this is the reason not many people want to be my student: I will ask you to tell the truth about who you have been being: hold your feet to the fire.

So what do you do with the feeling? Mostly you try to escape it... where to? Pleasure, or just as often, into utter misery.

When you claim that you are depressed, you are telling me you are escaping the sadness, because you don"t want to know the truth about yourself.

Carl Jung said, supposedly, The foundation of all mental illness is the unwillingness to experience legitimate suffering.

Depression, anxiety, addictions, borderline (self harming belongs here) are mental illnesses in this regard.

They are symptoms. Suppressing them, masking them, ignoring them, is the favorite ways of medicine... whether you are self-medicating, or were given suppressing/masking chemicals by a practitioner of the jailers of the human spirit. ((

A Jungian Approach to Mental Illness

By: John Betts))

All of us suffer from some form of emotional distress at some stage. Some forms of distress can last longer than they should and may significantly impair our everyday functioning. If this persists, we may be suffering from a mental illness or mental disorder (like depression, or anxiety). We can better understand this by comparing a mental illness such as depression, with a case of the flu – it pervades our daily life with painful symptoms.

The traditional medical approach to mental disorder is that the symptoms need to be eliminated as soon as possible, then the neurochemistry of the brain needs to be altered to stop the mental illness. Well that sounds reasonable enough doesn"t it? The problem is that traditional medicine does not seem to be able to deal with the wide variety of mental issues we face, nor are they able to keep people symptom-free. There seems to be something more to this problem.

The Jungian approach to mental disorders is quite different to traditional medicine. Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist and founder of Analytical Psychology, believed that when we suffer a mental disorder, the psyche (the mind and the body) are trying to work through some issue.

The nature and symptoms of the mental disorder tell us a great deal about the nature of the suffering. What distinguishes the Jungian approach to this problem is that Jung felt that the elimination of the symptoms prevents insight into the reason for the illness in the first place – i.e. the mental disorder is purposive, functional and wellness-oriented – the psyche is trying to heal itself through this illness.

Let’s think about flu again – the symptoms of flu are unpleasant but they are purposive and functional. The body raises its temperature (a fever) when it detects the flu virus in an attempt to kill it (viruses can’t stand high body temperature). The runny nose and headache are also attempts at eliminating the virus. We feel tired because our body is involved in emergency work, using energy over and above our normal needs. The symptoms are clearly functional and an attempt at healing. Why not view mental disorders in the same way?

Let’s take depression – we feel tired, don’t want to speak to anyone, shut ourselves away in a dark room, switch off the TV, stop working and feel hopeless. These are all terrible symptoms, but what are the symptoms making us do? They make us think about ourselves and examine issues in our lives that we may be ignoring (say for example a difficult time in childhood). When we address these issues, we often find that the symptoms reduce. This is by no means a complete overview of mental disorders or of the Jungian approach, but it does give you a sense that sometime a long-lasting emotional upheaval has a purpose. Ideally, we should contact a Jungian Analyst and talk through some of these issues and make up our own minds.

John Betts is a Diploma Candidate in the Jungian Analysis training programme in Zurich, Switzerland. He has a private practice in Victoria, BC, Canada. He may be reached through his website at www.jungian-analyst.ca))

So are the traps Margoczi talks about in his Feelings book. 8. FEELING TRAPS
8.1 The desire trap
8.2 The tension trap
8.3 The fear trap
8.4 The game trap
8.5 The pain trap

If you haven"t read that book, it is invaluable, even though its truth value is only 30%... meaning: 70% is inaccurate. But compared with psychology"s take on humans, it is twice as accurate... so... make your own deductions.

I can only tell you, it opened my eyes to a different way of looking at humans... a somewhat mechanical model, of course, given that Margoczi is an engineer. But it contains 70% of what is not covered in official psychology and psychiatry, the main stream, and 90% of what is not covered in alternative methods... ugh... that makes me want to throw up.

Carl Jung truth value: 30%
Freud truth value: 30%
Landmark Education truth value: 20%
Werner Erhard truth value: 30%
Peak Potentials truth value: 10%
Abraham/Hicks truth value: 7%

All feeling traps are best considered a mental illness, the way Jung looks at mental illness: a symptom that you are not looking at something, you are unwilling to own something about yourself.

Let"s see what is the issue you are not willing to face in the desire trap? What are you covering up?

It is fairly obvious: wanting something without working for it. It is a value issue...

According to Robert Hartman, there is a certain order, a hierarchy, in which all values exist and looked at in the highest level a person can be: I call it human being.

Warning: I am looking at emotions, feelings, feeling traps from a completely different point of view, the point of view of being in alignment or not with values. the Playground point of view is about reality, a whole different look at the same thing.

Things can reveal themselves fully only when you have enough different ways to look at them... this is, by the way, why psychology, the "science" has such low truth value: they have a hammer and everything looks like a nail.

Inside the Playground method the desire trap won"t show its face... The Playground method is also a hammer.

The value science method is also a hammer.

Carl Jung"s method, Freud"s method... Landmark... a hammer, treating everything like a nail.

When you study with me, I teach you all the hammers I have learned about and am able to use.

In the Desire Trap having is valued higher than the need to provide value in exchange for the rewards. The cart is put in front of the horse.

A certain unwillingness to produce value.

In the Starting Point Measurements your ambition number shows how much you are willing to do, and your desire number shows how much you want without having to work for it. Experiences, mainly. Experience yourself well, worthy, significant, knowledgeable, wise, good, useful, needed, whatever you personally value as an experience.

That high desire number will keep you stuck unless you deal with it, and keep it under close surveillance so you can catch when you get caught in it... again.

Here are a few Jung quotes that say more than I have said:

Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves. Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate. Every form of addiction is bad, no matter whether the narcotic be alcohol, morphine or idealism. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, to avoid facing their own souls. There"s no coming to consciousness without pain.

The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely.

There are more than 200 quotes from Jung... all fantastic, and no matter what you are dealing with, going over them, pondering them, you"ll find something that can set you free.

OK, here are two more quotes:

The acceptance of oneself is the essence of the whole moral problem and the epitome of a whole outlook on life. That I feed the hungry, that I forgive an insult, that I love my enemy in the name of Christ -- all these are undoubtedly great virtues. What I do unto the least of my brethren, that I do unto Christ. But what if I should discover that the least among them all, the poorest of all the beggars, the most impudent of all the offenders, the very enemy himself -- that these are within me, and that I myself stand in need of the alms of my own kindness -- that I myself am the enemy who must be loved -- what then? As a rule, the Christian"s attitude is then reversed; there is no longer any question of love or long-suffering; we say to the brother within us "Raca," and condemn and rage against ourselves. We hide it from the world; we refuse to admit ever having met this least among the lowly in ourselves.

and this, for you parents:

If there is anything that we wish to change in the child, we should first examine it and see whether it is not something that could better be changed in ourselves.

Oh, and here is my favorite: When you are up against a wall, put down roots like a tree, until clarity comes from deeper sources to see over that wall and grow.

Feelings, emotions... if you could just feel better! How to increase your emotional intelligence?

We talk about feelings and emotions as if they were the same...

But they aren"t... And like with everything, on the current level of humanity we have a really hard time holding it together, and even hope for a life that is bearable.

But with knowledge can come power... and that is what I am offering in this article. ((I read some of Aristotle"s stuff. Honestly, I was just looking for his stuff on logic... reasoning, but what i found is his writing on the human body.

I had no idea, and had never given a thought about what people thought about how our bodies work thousands of years ago.

I was stunned. They thought the heart was the brain. That breathing was the soul... or the spirit... In Hungarian the words still reflect this level of truth value... less than 1%.

So suddenly it made sense to me how little we know, and how sure we are in our knowledge... wrongly.

The current level of knowledge, truth value, is 7%. Pitifully low. And we think we know everything. We live like we know everything. And the 7% is the level of scientists! Your level is still in the stone ages! yuk.))

Self-actualization, self-realization means: becoming the best you.

And the definition of good (according to Robert Hartman) is: that which fulfills completely its purpose.

One main area of life where we have been living in a dense fog is feelings.

The establishment of the "science" of psychology hasn"t helped, in fact it just made the fog deeper.

Why? because on the root level (think Tree!) nothing was revealed until a couple of years ago when a Hungarian engineer decided that it is time to approach this fog with the engineers understanding of dynamics... and he did a bang up job... meaning, an amazing job.

Margoczi writes:
On feelings, in a completely different way...
The fact that I can explain why Phineas P Gage used foul language may be interesting only to a few neurologists or psychologists at best.

My statement that Descartes"s famous saying "Cogito ergo sum", i.e. "I think, therefore I am" should be modified to "Sentio ergo sum", i.e. "I feel, therefore I am" will give a real headache only to a few philosophers.

"Okay, but then why should simple mortals read this book?" you may ask.

Because it can help you find your way in the world, one of the many individual worlds, but the only world that exists for you as well: the world of feelings – the world of your feelings.

Until his book we only had books that made absolutely no difference...

And this Freud quote had a 50% truth value for everyone...
The life imposed on us is too hard for us to bear: it brings too much pain, too many disappointments, too many insoluble problems. If we are to endure it, we cannot do without palliative measures. ... Of such measures there are perhaps three kinds: powerful distractions, which cause us to make light of our misery, substitutive satisfactions, which diminish it, and intoxicants, which anaesthetize us to it.

If you observed yourself (you probably don"t) you would see that this is true for you.

But why?

Our inner world, feelings, emotions, are impossible to have any power over, until you actually have some distinctions, until you actually can tell your ass from your elbow, and in this regard humanity is at a 7% truth value.

Everything biologists, geneticists, pharmacists, psychologists, medical doctors tell you has a maximum of 7% truth value, whether it is about what ails you, what you should eat, how you should live.

No clarity, no idea!

The man with one eye leads the blind, the blind leads the blind
If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit

and this has been our reality...

But the Hungarian engineer"s book has clarified a huge part of the fog. With regards to feelings and emotions the Feelings/Words book combo has brought up our knowledge"s truth value to 50%

Regarding humanity"s well being, this is more significant than Einstein"s discovery.

Now, why is this not felt in the world?

Many of my students have read the books, and yet they are not much more powerful with their inner world... but why? What is missing that if it were there, they would have a lot more power?

I am going to point to the most controversial, the most argued measurement in my Starting Point Measurements: your clarity score.

You can"t match words with feelings and/or emotions accurately: this is why I said: you can"t tell your ass from your elbow.

You don"t have an accurate vocabulary.

Once you do: life can open up for you and become your oyster.

So how do you increase your vocabulary about feelings?

I don"t know. I can only tell you how I did it:

I used the Bach Flower Remedies as my teachers. And when I became good at them, knowing how each of those feelings/emotions felt and where, and how they moved, I asked Source to duplicate them, so I don"t need the drops any more...

Now, I am a true empath. Without going through the study of the Bach Flower Remedies, I would NOT be a TRUE empaths... and between you and me, an empath is a dime a dozen, while a TRUE empath is rare.

Why? Because you are born with empathy, but only work makes you a TRUE empath, or a true anything, really.

Anyway, how did I study the Bach Flower Remedies?

Each plant, each remedy represents a negative feeling, a bad feeling, a restrictive, unpleasant, blockage creating feeling.

Each is associated with a word or a few words. Also each plant has a story, a behavior pattern in its natural habitat.

Hundreds upon hundreds of pages of original writing, and thousands of second-hand writings...

I am not going to suggest that you try duplicate my efforts. Especially because you have a natural inclination to avoid bad feelings...
But I am going to suggest that you pick a few of your frequent bad feelings, and try to approach them analytically, with the intention to identify them accurately, and when succeeding at naming them, take them through the idea that all emotions are marker feelings.

Marker feelings is a concept invented by Margoczi, the Hungarian engineer.

The concept is that certain words are reliably coupled with certain negative feelings. It"s individual, it comes from the culture of your family, schooling, society, religion, etc. We can say: words trigger emotions.
  • Most of you have a harsh reaction to the idea of "wrong"... I have only a tiny blip in my stomach.

  • Worthless is a word that is strongly coupled for me with the need to kill myself.

Your words, your trigger words are, in my humble opinion, are very consistent with your soul correction.

When you increase your accurate vocabulary, your power over your life, your emotional states increases exponentially.

Even just adding one word can double your well-being, if that word is a dominant negative emotion.

For me, the first such word was: "I am personally offended"... I recognized it from the turned down corners of my mouth... And I could see how ridiculous that was to take everything so personally.

I haven"t felt that way for a long time now...

This morning I felt resentful. I felt imposed upon. I resented the way LIFE is treating me.

Once I identified the emotion, I could say: my resentment secretly says that life, reality should be different than it is... But that very moment I snapped out of it, because life, reality, is always the way it is, and my power comes from interacting with reality the way reality is, not how I think it should be. Duh.

Later I felt reluctant... and did a look and see what I must have said about what I was not wanting to do... writing this article... lol... I probably said: a waste of time! ugh.

All emotions are marker feelings. Fear, anxiety, worry, trepidation, stinginess, holding back, hate, regret, guilt, shame... all of them. How many feelings are there? About as many as the energies in my "famed" Heaven on Earth, the bundle of Bach Flower Energies®

40.

We have more words than 40, but only those 40 are a perfect match to the emotions.

Most people have access to about seven... The more you have access to, the more you"ll enjoy reading fiction, the more access you"ll have to good feelings... but you have what you have.

Your job, if you want to move to a higher level of life, need to gain power, or better said: pull back your power from those pesky words that make you miserable.

This is not to say: replace them with a positive word. That theory doesn"t hold water. That theory is to turn you into sheep.

No, what you need to do is discredit the words. Like I discredited the two words creating the two feelings, resentment and offended.

With an intelligent conversation.

One of the programs I actively help you to do that is the Playground. I am ready to start a women only group. Why keep men and women separately? Because men are from Mars and women are from Venus... they can be considered separate species, as far as the Playground method goes.

I am flexible with regards to starting times... 7 am on... I have one woman enrolled, she is in the UK...

Use https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meetingtime.html to see if you have compatible times with her.

Then write to me... I am flexible, but she isn"t... so best to first.

Once you are cleared, here is the button to register

If you"d rather have private conversations with me on identifying and eliminating your triggered emotions, please contact me so I can decide if I can produce the results for you. Email is best. contact me

You live in a world of your own design

You live in a world of your own design. And you create the world with your beingness.

We think that beingness is all good... But beingness is neutral. It doesn"t take sides. There is a beingness for everything, including greed, jealousy, and puniness... if that"s a word.

But whatever that beingess is, when you realize it, when you pinpoint it, you"ll immediately see that it actually created your current reality, and if you don"t do something about it... it will create the rest of your life that same...

But as a human you have access to creating any kind of beingness... you have difficulty in holding onto it. But yet, you can start. Any time, any day, any age. And increase your capacity to hold onto the beingness, honor it as yourself.

One of the beingnesses we are really familiar with is BEING judgmental. Or the flip side of it (they always go together, like the two sides of the coin!) BEING judged.

More on toughening up... and an exercise

More on toughening up...

When I first did the Landmark Forum (actually it was called The Forum in 1987) I remember, distinctly, experiencing, for the first time, that I am not alone.

There was so much misery shared in that room, that it caused a kind of comradery ((special friendship, or experience of being in battle together, that have experienced the crucible of combat together)), I wasn"t familiar with.

I remember thinking: If I am not alone, then it is not me... then it is something shared...

One method to force your new capacities work for you

It seems that one method of making the newly activated capacities real has been found.

As you know, having activated DNA capacities is nice, but unless you need it, they won"t do anything. They will be like lights that are on in streets that no one passes.

The methods I am looking for are methods that make you go into those streets, so you use the light and find ways to be different, do different, have different results, different reactions, different feelings.

The issue with comfortable and somewhat successful people (you) has been is that ego won"t allow you to take risks unless you trick it. I mean: trick the ego. Sweet-talk is great, but won"t help much in this case, I have tried.

So, the method I have zeroed in with the client who inherited his father"s company is this:

A spiritual practice like no other... are you doing it?
What makes the "Stranger than Fiction" type of narration work like gangbusters to get you out of your head?

To my surprise not many people take advantage of the opportunity to watch a good movie and steal a habit that can be called a spiritual practice that can take you from a victim of your mind, to as near a human being as you can get in a few months" time.

The movie, Stranger than Fiction is a really good movie, but the bestest part of it is that the style of speaking that the hero, Farrell dude hears, is the exact type of inner speaking that you hear when you speak from the Witness"s position, which is heaven on earth, if you ask me.

More on stupid/smart

Every success proves nothing. It can be luck, it can be accident, it can be smarts... you can"t be sure.

I am an architect by trade... and all my life as an architect I was wondering if I was talented. I could never say for certain. I could win contests, I could win awards, talent is not proven by them.

Finally I gave it up and sighed a sigh of freedom and relief.

You are the same way about being smart... or whatever is your issue. (Some people have an issue with being liked, loved, valued, respected, etc. But I think everyone has some issue with smarts. I could be wrong...)

My recommendation is that you consider the Forrest Gump saying: Stupid is as the stupid does... i.e. the only stupid thing you can do is not judge accurately what you need to see to make a good decision.

If you rush, or already know... the action is stupid, and that"s that.

When you are looking for and find things to be unhappy about... always angry...

I have a student who seems to be looking for reasons to be unhappy, angry, frustrated. And not surprisingly she finds something. Always.

She is working on her health and well-being, and part of that is to document every breakfast, lunch and dinner time what she eats, what she drinks, what she does, what she feels like, and whether she had a bowel movement or not. These are all indicators of her well-being and progress.

This morning I realized something: her diary says: bowel movement: small. She doesn"t say: bowel movement: yes (or no, whatever is the case.) No she says: small.

This realization lead me to look back and see that she wants to find something she can be unhappy about.

Now, this is actually very familiar to me. Bear with me, a lot of you have this, and if you can see it, you can do something about it.

I"ll share my story later, let me first distinguish the mechanism:

Election year manipulation

Who makes money when you are scared?

Or another question: who doesn"t make money when you are scared? Because if you stay scared long enough, smaller companies will go out of business... for sure.

This fear based behavior started in the middle of summer, if my feelings are correct, and it is effecting my chiropractor, MindValley, and myself. And when I look at the behavior of people emailing me to sell me something, creators of programs, I can detect desperation and hope in them... Hope that SOMETHING will work...

Panic-mongering is an age old technique to control people and fleece them.

Scared people are stupid. Fear causes inchoherence.

Why I refuse to teach a course on Abundance?

As you know, it"s taken me two years to become willing to create the More Money Workshop.

I know, you expected an Abundance course... but you see, your concept of abundance is flawed. Your concept of abundance is corrupted.

Why and how your concepts of life, including abundance got corrupted?

By religion first, and then by gurus who piggyback on your already corrupted world view.
What is religion?
Religion is a world view in which you are policed by entities that decide your fate, and all you can do is to try to please them so they help you, instead of killing you.

Religion is reduces you to an effect, who has very little to say about their fate.

Authenticity... your power belongs to you

Authenticity examined through movies...

When I watch TV series on Netflix or Amazon, I am working... wouldn"t you like to get a job like that? lol.

When I was in high school, I joined every group, every course, went to every seminar that spoke about movie making, the art.

When I had my high school final exams, I got lucky and I pulled question #40 on movie making... I so fascinated the three teachers that were the "jury" that I upset the exam schedule...

The trick (what I didn"t know} was that I watched the movies on all levels, auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. I felt the feelings of the characters, while I saw them and while I heard them.

360 degree experience.

My experience is that I can go to the movies with anyone, and come out and find out that we saw two different movies... Very weird.

Anyway... One of the phenomenon I can see, hear and feel, that most people can"t, is authenticity.

The in-order-to syndrome that wastes your life... Do you have it?

Why you were happy as a child and what you lost that you could regain?

Children live for the now moment, until they get corrupted by their parents.

They do what they do NOT in order to get something else, not in order to get it over with, to get to the promised land...

Christmas and vegetables are the first means to destroy joy in children.

How many days till Christmas makes the days till Christmas something to get through, so the real thing, Christmas can come along.

And eating your vegetables so you can get to the promised land of dessert... You are doing that to your children... you are doing that to yourself. Other examples: get good grades so you can get into a good school... Study to get good grades... Study so you can dazzle by having the right answers... Recognize yourself?

Is it nourishing or is it titillating?

How our sense of what is nourishing and what is junk got atrophied

I like reading and watching investigative, detective, police procedural books and movies.

I have noticed a new trend: when I ask myself at the end of a show, for example, I have no idea what exactly happened, who done it... minutes after the show.

So how is that possible? Am I the only one, the only stupid person? And if not, how come the millions of viewers don"t cry bloody murder... to set the creators of the shows straight?
